The nominees for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards were released just this week. If you’re having as hard of a time picking your votes as we are, there’s help on the way!
We’ve scrubbed the list of categories for this year’s awards and selected a few winners that we think are shoe-ins for the awards!
We’ve picked the musicians we want to win in four of the nine artist categories. Check out our decisions and tell us what you think of them below!
Best Pop Video – Selena Gomez- “Come & Get It”
Filling the spot of “Best Pop Video” is a huge responsibility that can’t go to just anyone. That’s why we picked Selena Gomez’ “Come & Get It.” Selena has been a pop princess for years, and her latest music video doesn’t disappoint with its gorgeous landscapes and beautifully choreographed dancing. Plus, song’s beat is pretty irresistible.
Artist To Watch – Austin Mahone- “What About Love”
Austin Mahone is one of our favorite rising artists, hands down, and his latest music video “What About Love” is just more proof that he’s going to be a star. We’d be really surprised if Austin isn’t a huge celebrity within the year, and we think he’ll be sticking around for a while too!
Best Female Video- Demi Lovato “Heart Attack
We’re pretty sure that in order to nab the Best Female Video award, you need to have an awesome girl power track, and that’s exactly what Demi Lovato’s “Heart Attack” is. The video is dramatic, powerful, and really demonstrates Demi’s development as a songwriter.
Video Of the Year- Taylor Swift- “I Knew You Were Trouble”
When the music video for “I Knew You Were Trouble” released, fans were surprised with the bold narrative and Taylor Swift’s departure from her usual, whimsical style. We think that’s exactly why this music video stands out and what makes it so special!
