Guess which one of your fave award shows is this Sunday? The Radio Disney Music Awards, duh!
The most epic way to watch the RDMA? A viewing party with your squad is the only way to go! These types of parties aren’t the easiest to plan, which is why we’re here to offer up some stellar suggestions of activities you can take part in and food you definitely need to get in your belly. The party planner within you is about to be unleashed!
Listen to our playlist of songs from RDMA nominees and performers to get even more hyped-up than you ever possibly imagined for the show. Let the dance party commence!
Playing a few rounds of RDMA-themed Heads Up is also a good way to take in all the awards show has to offer. Sabrina Carpenter and Megan Nicole rocked this game last year. But do you think you and your besties could do better?
A photo booth is a must at any event. There’s really no other way to get more-than-enough aesthetic pics to post on your Instagram.
Make sure you have plenty of music-themed items like inflatable guitars and plastic microphones for the photo booth. You can find super cute microphones and guitars at Party City for $3.99 to $4.99. Even Disney-inspired accessories would work perfectly, too. We found the ones below on Etsy for just $14.99.
Can’t forget about the food! You can make plenty of treats that are inspired by your fave artists. We found these cakes themed around songs on Taylor Swift‘s 1989 that you best believe we’ve already made for our watch party. The “Welcome To New York” one is too cute to eat.
But if you aren’t exactly a master chef, you could make some simpler goodies, like the banana sushi we made on Sweet Treats. And even if that’s too much effort, you can always just buy snacks like pretzels or chips. Just make sure to have your friends bring the dip!
Right before you watch your fave musicians get their Ardy, pass out some awards of your own to your besties for categories like Best Dance Moves or Best Music Taste. You can even make your own version of an Ardy some blank Vinylmation figurines. We found these on Ebay for $8.50 each.
The most important thing you have to do is set your TV to Disney Channel at 7 p.m. ET/PT so you don’t miss a single second of the RDMA!
While we have you fantasizing about how rad the RDMA are going to be this year, let’s flash it on back to last year when our host Alex Schiffman had all our fave celebs give show off their best Mickey Mouse impressions. Watch them all HERE.
