These are the oh-so-infectious lyrics of Taylor Swift‘s new single, “Mean,” which she performed at the 2011 ACM’s live. Swift also just launched the music video for the song, which shows three different scenarios in which the bullied trumps the bully. This is a subject which the country star holds very near to her heart- see what she had to say about the inspiration behind the song:

“I get that, no matter what, you’re going to be criticized for something,” Taylor said about the inspiration behind her song. “But I also get that there are different kinds of ways to criticize someone. There’s constructive criticism, there’s professional criticism-and then there’s just being mean. And there’s a line that you cross when you just start to attack everything about a person.”
