Alma Adams Becomes the 100th Woman In Congress!
Following Tuesday's midterm elections, Alma Adams won a seat in North Carolina's 12th congressional district, making her the 100th woman in Congress!
Adams' appointment has led to the most women in Congress in United States history. Never before has the number of women representatives in Congress reached the triple digits between the House and the Senate!
Votes are still being counted to determine whether more women will be joining Congress in January.
Still, Congress is a long way from being split 50/50 between genders. There are 535 representatives total in the U.S. Congress, and the 100-women mark is just the beginning!
