Here’s Everything You Need to Know About the Upcoming 2025 American Music Awards

Are you ready for 2025 American Music Awards?

The world's biggest fan-voted awards show will return in a little over a month, and today, April 23, this years nominations were announced. The event will be hosted by Jennifer Lopez and air live from Las Vegas on Memorial Day. Ahead of the big day, here's everything you wanted to know about this year's AMAs.

The Awards

The American Music Awards is all about reflecting the voices of music lovers around the U.S. and how they shape pop culture. Not only are all of the nominees selected based on fan interactions through Billboard charts, but the awards are also decided by fan vote. Voting is now live through Thursday, May 15 at  at 11:59:59 p.m. PT on Billboard's website HERE or on Instagram HERE, with the exception of the Collaboration of the Year and Social Song of the Year categories, which will stay open all the way up through the first 30 minutes of the awards broadcast.

The 51st AMAs will air on Monday, May 26 from Las Vegas starting at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ Expect a show packed with stunning performances (including one by host J.Lo) and so much more.

 

Notable Nominees

We're not at all surprised to see that certain nominees are already making an impression with the sheer number of nominations and potential wins on the list. Kendrick Lamar (already a winner of three American Music Awards) has the most nominations in 2025 with a whopping 10.

He's nominated for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year with GNX, Song of the Year with "Not Like Us", Collaboration of the Year  for "Luther" with SZA, Favorite Music Video  with "Not Like Us", Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist, Favorite Hip-Hop Album with GNX and has three Favorite Hip-Hop Song noms for "Like That" with Future and Metro Boomin, "Not Like Us" and "Luther" with SZA. If he wins in all eight categories, he'll join the ranks of Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston for winning eight AMAs in a single year.
