Could you go without texting?

Do you think you could go forty-eight hours without texting? Students in New York have tried to do just that, and it wasn't easy. The experiment asked elementary school students to go without texting, IMing or chatting through the web for a full two days.

The students of Riverdale Country School gathered to discuss the effects of going without texting. One of them, fourteen-year-old Julia Sokoloff, had already slipped. She had sent a half-asleep text very early Sunday morning, before realizing her error and turning over her phone to her little brother. Others found the experience to be refreshing.
