10 Things You'll Only Understand If You're a Bad Texter

Oh, texting.

It's such an easy way to stay in touch with the people you care about, but it comes with its own set of challenges. While some people are always on top of their texting game, others can't quite seem to get our digital communication together.

Keep scrolling for 10 things you'll only understand if you're a bad texter.

1. Despite the fact that it's supposed to be easy, you really feel like texting takes up too much of your time. You have to have a full conversation and type out an entire sentence? Ugh, who has time for this?

2. You hate texting just for the sake of texting. If there's not a point to the conversation, you're probably not going to respond.

3. You're constantly opening messages and forgetting to reply. You like seeing what your friends have to say, but actually responding always seems to fall very low on your list of priorities.

4. It's not that you don't want to talk to people—you do. It's just that texting feels so disconnected from the world that you can't embrace it as a genuine form of communication.

5. You're totally that person who will reply with a single sentence or word to a long paragraph from one of your pals. You care about what they have to say, but you would rather have important conversations in person.

6. Your struggles with texting have kind of turned you off from using your phone in general. Because you're not glued to it waiting for a response, you're constantly misplacing it, making Find My iPhone your best friend.

7. Your friends have finally realized that if they need an immediate response, they should probably just call you. Otherwise, they might spend days waiting for a reply.

8. You're constantly explaining to people that you have nothing against them personally, you're just really bad at texting.

9. Your closeness with people is determined by how well they understand your texting habits. If they get that you're not a big texter and don't get offended by your lack of response, you're going to get along great. If they're constantly demanding that you just reply a little quicker, things probably aren't going to work out.

10. You've thought about trying harder with your texting game, but you always seem to fall back into your old habits. After all, you just can't help who you are.
