5 Last-Minute, Thoughtful Activities to Celebrate Your Mom This Mother’s Day

Mother's Day is right around the corner. Literally, it will be here in two days. You still have the chance to order your last-minute flowers and find the perfect gift for your mom, but if you want to take her out, reservations may be far and few between.

Don't panic! We are here to rescue you. Below, discover five thoughtful places and activities that aren't too late to plan for your family's matriarch.

Sip and Paint—at Home!

There is something about a sip and paint that almost every mom loves. If you think about it, does anything say relaxation better than a chilled drink and a no-nonsense activity? And the best part about it is you can easily recreate it for a low cost. Head to Walmart to find paint for less than $1 per bottle and canvasses for $5 and under. To personalize it more, you and your mom can make exciting mocktails to celebrate the occasion.

Check Out the Less Glamorous Restaurants

We get it. You'd probably prefer to treat your mom to a nice steakhouse meal. On the bright side, if her favorite fine dining spot doesn't have a reservation, the less glamorous restaurants like Chili's and Applebee's feel comforting and nostalgic.

Turn your Mother's Day into a throwback event. You know, when you and your family would take you to eat as a child, and those Olive Garden-esque restaurants would feel like peak dining. Besides, love can shine the brightest in unexpected and underrated places.

Save the Shopping for Mother's Day

Okay, but what if you haven't had the time to purchase her gift, too? Instead of throwing together a last-minute bag, bring her to the mall, so she can pick out everything herself. After all, there is nothing more fun than spending all the money you want, where you want, without having to pay for it.

Create Your Own Mini-Spa

All moms deserve pampering. That said, it can be quite pricey to schedule a hair or nail appointment, massage and facial in the same day. But the good news is that you can do all of those things at home. Purchase a face mask, warm some moist towels and get a steamer to open those pores. It's no less effective, either!

Breakfast in Bed

And last but not least, the classic breakfast in bed. If your mom wakes up every morning and makes breakfast for the family, treat her to a break by serving the most important meal of the day from the comfort of her room. Hey, maybe you can take it to the next level by following it up with lunch and dinner on the couch.
