2 Simple Holiday Cookie Recipes For National Cookie Day!

For any recipes involving the stove or oven, always be sure to work carefully and under the supervision of an adult!

No Bake Peanut Butter Cup Oatmeal Cookies (Adapted from Gimme Some Oven)no bake chocolate peanut butter oatmeal cookies

You'll need:

  • 1/2 cup of peanut butter
  • 3 cups of quick cook oats
  • 4 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 3/4 cups of white sugar
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Mix your cocoa powder, white sugar, milk and butter in a saucepan. Once it begins to boil, continue cooking for about another minute and a half before removing from heat.

Add your peanut butter, quick cook oats and vanilla extract. Use a spoon to scoop of balls of the mixture onto wax paper on a baking sheet and pop into the fridge until they harden. Enjoy!

Simple Shortbread Jam Cookies (Adapted from Simple Bites)simple shortbread jam cookies

You'll need:

  • 1 cup of butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 cup flour
  • Any flavor jam or jelly

Mix butter, sugar and flour thoroughly. Roll into balls on greased baking sheet and flatten into cookie shape with your palm. Using a spoon, make a small indent in the top of the cookie and fill with jam or jelly. 

Chill for 30 minutes before popping in the over at 300° for 15 minutes for perfect cookies!
