1. Alex Porat's Love Sets a New Bar in 'Blueprint'

Canadian alt-pop star Alex Porat first made a name for herself posting YouTube covers, but in releasing her own original songs, she's made it clear that she's found her own voice as a powerful singer-songwriter. Her latest single is the romantic and dream-like "Blueprint," an earnest love song about learning what a relationship should be. She might not know if this love will last forever, but she'll be forever grateful for him, knowing his love is the real deal and that she'll refuse to ever settle for anything less. It's also the third single of Alex's upcoming P crushed!, out June 27.

"This EP was inspired by the feelings of meeting my now boyfriend," Alex revealed in a press release. "It's the type of music someone would dance around their room to when they get a text from the person they like."

3. Morgan Wade Announces New Album With 'The Party Is Over'

Country-rock sensation Morgan Wade has wowed audiences with her rousing sound and heartfelt lyricism, and her next album, The Party Is Over (Recovered), is set to be a love letter to the fans who've been with her from the very beginning. It'll be made up up new recordings of early tracks and demos her fans might recognize, in addition to some new tracks, including her newest single "The Party Is Over." It's a buzzy and nostalgic country track about being stuck on someone, no matter how long it's been since they broke your heart, and it's all too relatable. We're eagerly awaiting the full album release on Aug. 1.

"A lot of you have been here for a long time listening and supporting me," Morgan shared in an Instagram post. "That means some of you were here before I ever put out my debut record. You heard songs that were demos and early recordings that no longer exist. I wanted to put these songs back into the world and give them life again. Showcase that chapter of my life, and throw in some new songs too. While these songs might be new to a lot of you, they are old friends to some of you—definitely old friends to me. Hope you enjoy and thanks for everything."

4. Arts Fishing Club Focus on Moving Forward in 'New York Heat'

Indie rock band Arts Fishing Club is gearing up for the release of their new EP, Supernational Groove, out Aug. 1, and they just gave us an exciting new taste of what's to come with the release of their new single, "New York Heat." The nostalgic track is laidback yet pulsing with friendly energy, with a fuzzy rock sound and lyrics that capture the magic of the day-to-day moments unfolding within the hustle and bustle of New York City. It's about leaping into life and chasing your wildest dreams.

"I was in a songwriting rut and so i took a little trip to NYC," frontman Christopher Kessenich shared in a press release. "Walking around the city for the first time in my life, I finally got the electricity (heat) that everyone talks about. up in my hotel room tower looking down, I started imagining the millions of lives and stories that were unfolding. 'NY Heat' fell out. It's an homage to always moving forward. To take the risks. Step into the heat of love. And to not look back too critically but rather to keep moving!"

5. The Rose Make an Impactful Comeback With New EP, WRLD

6. Kalie Shorr Gravitates Toward Toxic Love in 'My Type'

Singer-songwriter and podcast host Kalie Shorr is back in a big way in 2025, and after releasing heartbreak anthem "Unkiss" in January, she's teasing her upcoming EP with the drop of its title track, "My Type." It's a bold and edgy alt-pop ode to toxic love and emotionally unavailable partners, and is also her first original song to address her queer identity. The track was shelved for years after she first wrote it in 2017, but pressured to stay in the closet—and change the lyrics—it took moving to L.A. and coming out for Kalie to return to the song to its original form, and that was definitely the right move. Today, it serves as a proud declaration of Kalie's identity, and a self-aware acknowledgment that she hasn't yet shed these unhealthy patterns. Her My Type EP drops on July 11.

"This song is an anthem for anyone who is drawn to people who are a little toxic for them," Kalie explained in a press release. "All of the girls and guys I've dated have something in common, and it's that streak of individuality that is both their biggest strength and their biggest weakness. This is the title track for the EP because all of these songs are the consequences of me continuing to chase 'My Type.' It's also just one isolated layer of the whole album, which covers everything from mental health to leaving the evangelical church, but I thought starting on a (somewhat) lighter note would be a good way to lead into a bigger project that fully tells my story."

7. Dean Lewis Bares His Soul in New Fan Track, 'Truth'

After releasing his third album, The Epilogue, in October of 2024, Dean Lewis is returning this year with its special edition on July 11. With the release of new fan track, "Truth," it's already apparent that this version of the album is going to be a tearjerker. "Truth" is a soulful reflection on a broken heart in the wake of a betrayal, and the pain that sits with you long after the separation. As he finally says the things he always meant to say, reaching out for a sense of closure, he wonders who it'll ever be possible to move forward.

"I wrote it about being betrayed by someone I loved," Dean wrote in an Instagram post.  "I tried to capture that feeling with the lyric 'my darling what have you done'. Finding out for the first time."

8. Conan Gray Teases His Next Album With Confessional 'This Song'

It's a very exciting week in music, because Conan Gray just revealed that his next album, Wishbone, releases on Aug. 15. In the meantime, he treated us to the new single, "This Song." It's a gorgeously nostalgic and stirring confessional, with swelling strings creating a feeling of the excitement and uncertainty tied up in young love. It's a love song about a best friendship that might be evolving into something more, and the doubt around telling someone how you feel—especially when you don't know if the feelings are reciprocated.

"It felt like the music was reminding me who I am, at an experimental time in my 20s where 'who I am' had no definition at all," Conan wrote of the album in an Instagram post.  "My driftwood childhood in Texas. My lucid summers in London. My blue striped bed sheets in my college apartment. I played the songs to the very first person I'd ever made music with, [Dan Nigro], and I began to record. I didn't know why i was recording, I just was. I didn't know what story I was telling, I was just living in it. Slowly I started to see myself in full picture. The slivers of myself I'd always been, but never faced. The songs I'd always been writing, but never singing. Before I knew it I was surrounded by an album."
