NYC Girls Project Tackles Body Image Issues!
New York City has a new campaign called the NYC Girls Project that aims to empower girls by letting girls know they are beautiful the way they are!
The NYC Girls Project is the first major campaign by a major U.S. city to take on self-esteem and body image issues among girls and young women.
It campaign aims to teach girls that they way they look doesn't define them, and to expand what beauty really means. It also focuses on girls as young as 6 to let them know that every type of girl should be appreciated for who she is!
The ads for the campaign features a group of 21 diverse girls who work together and show that they believe in their own self worth.
"I'm clever, adventurous, outgoing, unique, smart and strong," reads the text of one ad. "I'm beautiful the way I am."
Their website reads, "New York City is launching a self-esteem initiative to help girls believe their value comes from their character, skills, and attributes – not appearance."
We love this campaign and what it's doing to help young girls know just how beautiful and important they are.
