Aries (March 21 – April 19): You Upstaged Them

If your Aries friend is upset with you, you may have outdone them in some way, majorly hurting their feelings. As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries prefers to be first and the very best and what they do, and they can't stand being upstaged—particularly if you celebrated the accomplishment a little bit too much. But don't worry too much, because Aries is usually quick to forgive.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20): You Changed Plans at the Last Minute

As an earth sign, Taurus is a planner who likes a steady foundation under their feet, and when you change plans on them at the last minute, it can feel like the rug is being swept from under them. It's not that they can't deal with change, but that they need time to prepare for the change and accommodate it into their lives. They hate surprises, so next time, give them a heads up.

 

Gemini (May 21 – June 20): You Left Them Out

Geminis were born to make friends and socialize, and if you forget to include them in your plans with a group of friends, it'll be a while before they get over it. To them, being left out is a major indicator that you don't care about them and would rather not have them in your life, even when that's totally untrue. Don't you dare leave them out next time, or you just might lose a friend entirely.

 

Cancer (June 21 – July 22): You Were Dishonest

Honesty is extremely important to Cancer, so deceiving a Cancer is the fastest way to get them mad with you. Because they're so intuitive, they'll often be quick to sniff out the lie, and that will be hard to recover from. Once they see you as a dishonest person, it's extremely hard to earn back their trust. They may forgive you, but they'll keep a very careful eye on you from here on out.

Leo (July 23 – Aug. 22): You Damaged Their Pride

When Leo isn't the most important person in the room, they're not happy. And if you happen to be the one who took that away from them, they're going to be particularly angry at you. Leos are very prideful and care a lot about maintaining their image, and if you do anything to tarnish that reputation, you'll face their ire. But even when they're raging internally, they'll mostly keep it cool around you because it's important to them not to appear petty.

 

Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sep. 22): You Did Something a Long Time Ago

Virgos are never quick to anger, but that doesn't mean that something you did won't get to them eventually. They tend to compartmentalize their feelings and hold them deep down, and only after a lot of time might it finally bubble up into outward anger. If your Virgo friend is upset with you, you'll probably want to ask what you did and how you can make it better because it could have been something from months and months ago that you'd never even remember.

 

Libra (Sep. 23 – Oct. 22): You Got Them Involved in a Conflict

Libras prefer to stay squarely out of anything that even resembles conflict, and the one thing that can make them really upset is getting dragged into a disagreement. Though they have a great desire for balance, they're actually terrible mediators and have a tough time speaking up for themselves. If they only get involved because you put them there, you're going to be the rare person who feels their wrath.

 

Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21): You Didn't Give Them Enough Space

Scorpios take a while to truly warm up to people and consider them their true friend, and they detest being smothered with too much attention. If you don't give them their space, particularly when they ask for it, there's a good chance they'll get upset. Scorpio can be cold and indifferent when they're angry, but keeping your distance for a bit might be the best thing for making things better.

 

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21): You Did Something Pretty Bad

Sagittarius is usually a very chill sign, and it's typically hard to actually make them angry. If one is mad at you, it either means you did something pretty bad to upset them, or that you happened to hit on a very particular nerve. Even still, it's not the end of the world. Thankfully, the sign is bad at staying angry for long, and they should be back to their old selves in no time.

 

Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19): You Got in Their Way

Capricorns are driven and ambitious, and they dislike few things more than being impeded by other people. They work extremely hard and are meticulous in everything they do, so if your actions throw a wrench into their efforts, they're not going to be all that forgiving. They know how to get over pretty much any obstacle, and if that obstacle is you, they won't be afraid to let you know it.

 

Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18): You Held Them Back

Freedom and independence-loving Aquarius won't stand for feeling caged in by anyone—including their best of friends. If they feel like you're not letting them live life to their full potential, or that you're holding them back in any way, they'll come to resent you. Of course, they won't necessarily reveal that to you, because they don't want to let your actions dictate their emotions, either. Sooner or later you'll be forgiven, because Aquarius tries to let go of anything that hinders their progress.

Pisces (Feb. 19 – March 20): You Were Judgmental

Pisces tends to be very laid back and not easily moved to anger, but they will get very upset with you if you judge their hopes and dreams. Typically they'll get sad before they get angry, but those negative emotions can eventually swirl up into a real outburst if they continue to feel that you're condescending toward them. They're extremely passionate about their dreams, in their own quiet way, and they won't put up with them being disrespected.
