All the Reasons It's Important to Look Your Best When You Work From Home
Thanks to the coronavirus, working from home is the new normal.
Long gone (for now) are the days of walking into an office or classroom. Now, we work from the convenience of our own homes! Due to this drastic change, a lot of us have reverted to bad habits and worked from bed, in our pajamas. But you know what? You're not doing yourself any favors. In fact, you're probably not as efficiently since your body doesn't recognize that it's in work mode!
Keep reading for the five reasons why it's important to look your best when you work from home:
1. You'll Be More Productive
If you've yet to dress up while working from home, we're willing to bet you'll be way more productive the next time your spruce up. By putting on "real" clothes, it'll spark something, motivating you to work that much harder. While we all want to lounge around in sweatpants all day (which is totally fine from time to time, btw), it's not the best method for being your most efficient, useful self.

2. It Will Feel Like a Real Work Day
When you used to head into the office or classroom (pre-quarantine days), you likely wore a bit of makeup and got dressed in something cute. We're not saying this was an every day occurrence—of course there were days when you just didn't feel like putting in effort. However, by dressing up at home, you're reminding yourself that you actually have work to do, and you can't just sit around at home all day, being unproductive.
3. You Won't Get Too Cozy
If you're wearing something other than what you slept in, you've taken that extra necessary step to get your day into high gear. By swiping on some mascara, for example, you won't be tempted to rub your eyes, which would make you want to take a nap. Instead, since you've dressed up, you won't feel super cozy—which is a good thing when you're trying to get work done!

4. You'll Be Taken Seriously on Zoom Calls
The last thing anyone wants to see is a girl who looks like she literally just rolled out of bed on Zoom. It's incredibly unprofessional, and you won't be taken seriously. Whether you're on a business call or in class for school, by dressing up, you're showing everyone that you're ready to get down to business. If this seems like too much to take on, start with baby steps by brushing your hair and putting on a nice top.
5. You've Created a Home-Work Boundary
Chances are, you're stuck at home with other people. If you're with friends or family, they're probably all up in your business, all the time. After all, we're all in the same boat, and boredom is real! By dressing up every day, you're setting a boundary for your home and work life. Your outfit will show those you quarantining with that you don't have time to mess around, and that you mean business.
