The Meanings Behind Your Fave Celebs’ Tattoos
Ever since Demi Lovato posted the below pic revealing the meaning behind her new (and très adorable) tiny tattoo, we've been obsessing over celeb ink.
Like Demi, many celebs get inked to serve as a reminder, provide inspiration or simply spread a smile across their face.
Let's take a look at 10 other stars who decided to take the plunge with these personal and permanent designs.
Lea Michele
What it is: A cup of coffee ☕
What it means: Lea got this petite tattoo in honor of her grandma passing. Lea's grandma gave her her very first coffee when she was only 8 years old. What a perfect, simple and touching gesture. ❤️

Ashley Benson
What it is: The letter "G"
What it means: Ashley inked the letter G on her left arm in honor of her friend's daughter, Georgia Veach, who suffers from an incurable brain disorder called Lissencephaly. Other celebs, including Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez and Hailey Baldwin have a similar G tattooed on their bodies to support Georgia as well.
Kylie Jenner
What it is: A red tattoo that says "Mary Jo"
What it means: Mary Jo is short for Mary Jo Campbell, and is the name of Kylie's grandmother. The sentimental stamp is written in her grandfather's writing! D'aww, you can't get much sweeter than that.
Selena Gomez
What it is: A music note ????
What it means: Selena got this tattoo in 2012 when she was taking a break from the music industry to focus on her acting career. The music note is a reminder to herself on how big of an influence music has been (and probably will be) in her life. Keep the music coming, Sel.
Katy Perry
What it is: Roman numeral XLIX, which stands for 49
What it means: After performing the halftime show at the 49th Super Bowl, Katy got this ink! This huge career milestone will forever be ingrained in her mind and stamped on her finger! How cool is that?
Ariana Grande
What it is: The words "Baby Doll"
What it means: Ari's new and discreet piece of art is a subtle shout out to her sweet grandma, Marjorie Grande. "Baby Doll" is the nickname her grandma has supposedly called her since she was a little girl.
Missy Franklin
What it is: The Olympic rings (located on her right thigh)
What it means: Five-time Olympic gold-medalist got this tat as a celebration after she qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. It's pretty cool that she gets to rock this again at the games in Rio.

Cara Delevingne
What it is: A lion ????
What it means: Cara told Pop Star Tats that this was actually the first tattoo she ever received. She wanted it because she's a Leo and the lion helps remind her to be fearless in everything she does. We think you're pretty fearless, Cara!
Lauren Jauregui
What it is: Roman numeral XXVII, which means 27
What it means: When Lauren first got this tattoo, she posted a link to her Instagram and Twitter account that explained the deep meaning of numeral XXVII. According to this numerology site, people associated with the number 27 are "Compassionate, highly intelligent and kind….[they] are true humanitarians, natural teachers, healers and counsellors." Lauren was born on June 27, so it only makes sense that the number is significant to her. Pretty cool if you ask us.
Jesy Nelson
What it is: The words "Once Upon a Time"
What it means: Jesy recently revealed that this tattoo was her way of displaying her love for her boyfriend, Jake Roche. She was inspired to get the words "Once Upon a Time" because when the couple first met, Jake would tell her a fairytale story each night about how they got together. We can't handle the cuteness.
