SMTOWN Live in Los Angeles Was a Monumental Night of Music and Memories

People talk about once-in-a-lifetime experiences, but actually being able to witness one is another story. On May 10, we got to witness a true once-in-a-lifetime concert when SMTOWN made its way to Los Angeles.

We've had a chance to see many SM groups on their tours throughout the years, but never so many groups at once. The night was action-packed with SM Rookies to SM Legends, such as TVXQ!

The night began with some of the newer groups, including Dear Alice and Hearts2Hearts, two acts that got the crowd warmed up for what was to come. RIIZE, SM's breakout stars, gave a solid performance and even teased their song "Bag Bad Back," which will be released on May 19.

SM's resident girl groups, aespa and Red Velvet (Joy, Seulgi, Irene) brought the fire and vocals to the stage, amping up the audience's excitement. Then came our favorite part of the night, the different NCT Units. Starting with NCT Dream, and ending with NCT 127, with WayV being the standout performance of the night in our opinion. We got teased that they'll be coming back soon, and we hope it's true because we need a full WayV concert in our lives.

Soon after the NCT units came the legendary SM boy groups, EXO and SHINee, but performing as solo artists. We got a clear reminder of Kai's stage presence, something we haven't witnessed live since the days of SuperM. Then, even more senior idols performed, including Super Junior and TVXQ! Each act came back out for one more song before the most magical moment of the night, a group song.

The night ended with all SM acts joining the stage to sing "Hope from KWANGYA." Everyone in attendance was there for a different reason, whether it was just to see the newer groups, the older groups, one group or every SM act in attendance. It felt like a true night of community and fun, and we hope we don't have to wait another 10 years for the next one.

2025's SMTOWN Live in Los Angeles  was a celebration of music, of unity, of legacy and future. SM artists redefine what it means to be K-pop artists and what it means to be performers, leaving it all on the stage and the audience with a memory that will last a lifetime.
