Spinning Baby Chimp- Video Pick Of the Day!

Milou the baby chimp was rescued thanks to the Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue Center in Portland, Oregon. Have you even seen a spinning baby chimp?

Who can resist this spinning baby chimp?

Milou was rescued right before he could be sold off as a pet. Chimpanzees are sold illegally as pets in many places. In others, having pet chimps isn't yet illegal.

Even though baby chimps are so cute they're irresistible and chimpanzees are really smart animals, they don't make very good pets for a number of reasons.

Chimps are stronger than most adult humans by the time they are five years old! Think about the average five-year-old temper tantrum, and give that kid an adult's strength!

When baby chimpanzees are kept as pets, they're deprived of the nurturing environment their moms are meant to provide. Ever seen how much care and attention a human baby gets from his parents? That's how much a baby chimp needs! Most people don't have the time to provide 24/7 care for their pets.

They also live an average of 50 to 60 years in captivity. Adopting a baby chimp requires even more care than adopting a human baby, just because chimps need the stimulation of their natural environment to be truly happy.

We're glad little Milou was saved from being sold as a pet. He's positively twirling with joy! We love you, spinning baby chimp.
