Whether you love Taylor Swift or not so much, you have to admit you’re the least bit curious about the latest chapter in her musical career.
For better or worse, Taylor surely knows how to keep both fans and haters on their toes. So, we’ll admit we’re no different than anyone else, and we are very interested in what the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer delivers when her latest album Reputation drops on Nov. 10.
But diehard fans of the former country crooner may find it hard to wait. If you’re one of many who find the countdown to early next month agonizing, the three 2017 albums below should give you just the Taylor-esque fix you need in the meantime.
If there’s one rising pop artist to have on your radar, it’s Dua Lipa. The British beauty is taking music by storm with her catchy choruses and soothing vocals. If that’s what you crave from Taylor, you’ll definitely find that here.
There’s a certain sense of calm we find in Taylor’s music, and if that’s her selling point for you, look no further than Lights’ latest album Skin&Earth, which is incredibly easy on the ears. The compilation was released in conjunction with a comic book series also created by the singer, so much like Ms. Swift, this album tells a full story that includes plenty of romantic ups and downs.
Halsey obviously got her big break when she collabed with The Chainsmokers on “Closer.” But despite the track being a chart-topping hit, it didn’t exactly put the singer’s songwriting skills on display. If you live for Taylor’s storytelling, Halsey is your girl. She dives deep into the trials and tribulations of falling in and out of love, and uses real-life experiences to make up her music. Much like Taylor, Halsey doesn’t hold back when it comes to exes and raw emotion.
