5 Tips and Tricks to Stay Motivated This Year

With a new year comes new goals and mindsets, and if you are anything like us, you'll probably lose the motivation to achieve your dreams mid-way through 2024. But this year, we are choosing to be better, and you can, too.

Below, discover our five foolproof tips and tricks to stay on track. By 2025, you can turn your fantasies into a reality.

Come Up With a Clear-Cut Game Plan

First things first, you probably should decide the purpose of your goals. What does it mean if you accomplish what you desire? How does it put you closer to your long-term goals? Having this clarity will heighten the stakes and keep you aware of the importance it holds in your future.

If you can, you should try to break your overarching plan into smaller steps. It's much more digestible to the human mind and prevents you from getting overwhelmed. Remember, it's a marathon and not a sprint.

Find an Accountability Partner or Support Group

Life is easier when you have a friend along for the ride. Delegating someone you love as your accountability partner can offer that extra confidence boost when you feel down.

With that said, having someone you feel too comfortable with might not feel like the strength you need. Sometimes, it can be more productive to have strangers boosting you or surrounding yourself with others trying to do the same. In this case, we'd recommend searching for an interest-based support group to find other like-minded individuals.

Setbacks Are Normal

We cannot emphasize this enough: setbacks are normal! In fact, you'll probably experience multiple bumps in the road. That doesn't mean you should give up. Be kind to yourself, and give yourself the grace to learn. Those setbacks might teach you more about yourself and how you approach a task. You can bounce back from it and improve.

Track Your Progress

If you have a heftier plan, you must track your progress. Your mission may span the entire year—or even multiple years. Along the way, you'll likely forget how much work you've dedicated and the milestones you crossed. So, when life puts you behind schedule, you might give up. Your progress journal will remind you what it took to get where you are and show you you're capable.

Remember to Take a Rest

After all this hard work, you're going to need a vacation. It might be a two-hour vacation or a week-long one. But it needs to happen. It's not healthy to work 365 days straight. With a break, you will avoid burnout by rejuvenating your mind.

As we said, it doesn't have to mean going to Bora Bora for a week. It can be as simple as logging off work an hour early, sleeping in on the weekends or having a treat you love. Trust us, you'll feel much better if you maintain your mental health.
