Things Virgo NEEDS in a Successful Relationship

Virgos can be fussy and perfectionistic when it comes to each aspect of their lives, and it should come as no surprise that dating is no different.

They have high standards, they're not prepared to lower for anyone and don't tend to fall in love until they find the right person for them—but that doesn't mean that your relationship with them is doomed.

Curious about what Virgo needs to be happy in their relationships? Keep reading to find out.

Virgo has a reputation for being one of the cleverest signs of the zodiac, and in a relationship, they'll be happiest if they're with someone who can keep up with their intelligence and wit. This doesn't mean that you have to be as academic-minded as they are—just that you're someone with original ideas who can have a thoughtful, intelligent conversation. They love long, philosophical chats that make them think and help them to expand their knowledge, sharing their discoveries about the world at large. They're always investigating things and analyzing how they work, and they want their significant others to understand them in a way that few others can.

Virgos are perfectionists who are their own biggest critics, so a little support and affirmation in their lives can be a wonderful thing for them and their egos. They definitely don't need someone else adding to the pile of things they think they're doing wrong, or that they could do better, at any given moment. It helps when they're reminded that they're doing their best and that their hard work truly will pay off in the long run. Questioning them, whether it's their approach or their accomplishments, will likely be a big setback in the relationship and breed contempt.

Virgo has no time in their lives for slobs, so if you're on the messy side, you may need to get your stuff together to impress the sign. They're not only tidy but also fussy about the way things are done and the tiny details that nobody else notices. Virgo likes it when everything is in order, from your personal spaces to your car, to the work you do and even your appearance. But if you're willing to put in a little extra work in these areas, it'll make it that much easier to woo Virgo.

Perfectionist Virgo also has some lofty ideas about love, and that all starts with a partner who'll stick with them through thick and thin. In general, Virgos don't play games, and they want someone who's serious, committed and dedicated to the relationship and making it work. If you're not ready to commit to one person and be the type of partner they can trust completely, don't waste Virgo's time. They believe in a love that lasts forever and are going to keep looking until they find the person who can give that to them.

Especially at the start of your relationship, Virgo will have some ideas about you, and who they think you should be, and it helps if you have a degree of flexibility with them. They may try to "fix" you and whatever they see as your faults, and while you shouldn't bend to their every whim, it can be helpful to go with the flow with them, being adaptable and trying things out while being sure you don't lose yourself in the process. They may also be critical of you, but that's only their nature. If you can understand that this is because they care for you, and want you to reach your full potential, you're much less likely to come into conflict because of this.
