Aries (March 21 – April 19): Slapstick Humor

Oh, Aries—you're one of the most physical signs in all the zodiac, so it only makes sense that slapstick comedy would be your brand of humor. Slapstick humor revolves around the physical body. Falling, punching, getting hurt in ridiculous ways—all of these speak to your energetic and active mindset that's always on the hunt for new ways to use your body. You've had your own fair share of things go wrong on your adventures, so you can't help but chuckle at other people who run into the same problems of an active and impulsive life.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20): Observational Humor

As an Earth sign, you're deeply grounded in reality, Taurus. You have a very practical view of the world and you tend to notice the utter ridiculousness of life in general, often before anyone else does. Your brand of humor is totally observational. As the name suggests, this kind of humor hinges on noticing things around you and pointing out the ways in which the day-to-day workings of life are laughable. It's the perfect way to lighten the mood when things are feeling a bit bleak, and it comes from a rational perspective that deeply speaks to your sense of reason.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20): Improvisational Humor

You're one of the most social and communicative signs in all the zodiac, Gemini. However, even though you can always be found chattin' it up with anyone and everyone in sight, you're not the most reliable person. Your two-sided nature means that people are never quite sure what to expect from you, but that doesn't get in the way of your sense of humor. For you, improvisational comedy totally speaks to your in-the-moment mindset. This type of comedy has no real plan or direction, things just kind of happen as they come. You love this type of humor because it speaks to your often up-and-down nature, but still aligns with your social and extroverted personality.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22): Dry Humor

Ah, our emotional little Cancer. Although you're sympathetic and sentimental, you also have a very moody and pessimistic side that can make you miss the humor in life. Ridiculous gambits and blatant attention-seeking comedy don't speak to you at all. Instead, when you do find things funny, you tend to veer towards dry humor. This type of humor is delivered with little to no emotional inflection, which is exactly why you love it so much. The dispassionate nature of this humor gets you out of your own head for a second and allows you to appreciate the funny side of something without injuring your sensitive emotional state. Plus, you always find it funny that someone could be so unemotional about something because you feel everything so deeply all the time, making dry humor the perfect way to get a laugh out of you.

Leo (July 23 – Aug. 22): Punny Humor

You're known for being one of the most cheerful signs in all the zodiac, Leo. You're genuinely a happy person who just wants to enjoy life and have fun, so it's really not difficult to get a laugh out of you. Although you can find almost anything funny, you tend to love the ridiculousness of punny humor. You know the puns are stupid and terrible, which is precisely why you appreciate them so much. No one is getting hurt or attacked—they're simply a clever way to tease the fun out of everyday life interactions, which is what you try to do on a daily basis.

Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22): Self-Deprecating Humor

You're a highly methodical and analytical sign, Virgo. Organization is the key to a smooth life for you, which means you have a tendency to be incredibly critical, both of yourself and other people. While sometimes your disapproving nature comes out in your interactions with others, you're much more likely to overthink your own actions. Self-deprecating humor is your go-to, Virgo, often because you have no other outlet to express your constant and unceasing disappointment in yourself. While you should definitely give yourself a break every now then, at least you can make people laugh while you internally berate yourself… right?

Libra (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22): Witty Humor

Avoiding conflict is of utmost importance to you, Libra. You never want to offend anyone, as you have a desperate desire to keep the peace no matter what. At the same time, your position as an Air sign makes you incredibly intellectually gifted, and gives you the drive to find mental stimulation in any situation. This combination—a strong intellect and a dislike of any joke at someone's expense—makes witty comedy your ultimate brand of humor. This comedy is far from easy, cheap shots, but instead revolves around well thought-out, smart comments. Not only are you incredibly good at it, it's also the only kind of humor you can really appreciate.

Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21): Dark Humor

Oh, complicated little Scorpio—you're an incredibly mysterious sign. While you're deeply emotional and passionate, you have a tendency to hide all your complicated feelings under the surface. This can create a very dark and complex personality for you, Scorpio, so it's only logical that your sense of humor would match. Considering you can rarely be vulnerable with your own emotions, it only makes sense that you also find comfort in making light of subjects that are often considered taboo or downright painful to discuss. Dark humor is your forte, and anyone close to you is just going to have to accept your often-inappropriate comedy.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21): Gross Humor

You're an incredibly generous and open-minded sign, Sagittarius. While you're known for your philosophical viewpoint and free-thinking ways, you're almost child-like in your sense of idealism. You're so open to new experiences and you always believe the best in people, which can cause you to be a bit naive and immature at times. Gross, "bathroom" humor is all it takes to make you laugh, Sagittarius. A couple fart jokes here and there and you're guaranteed to be cracking up until your stomach hurts. It might not be the most sophisticated brand of humor but, hey—if it makes you happy, that's all that really matters.

Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19): Malicious Humor

You're a very serious and disciplined sign, Capricorn. You have a massive amount of self-control and you don't have time to let anything get in the way of your plans, least of all other people. Although you don't always mean it to be as harsh as it is, you tend to find your funny side at other people's expense. You have a hard time accepting that other people can be different from you, so malicious humor that pokes fun at their flaws definitely speaks to your uncompromising and condescending side. Be careful who sits at the butt of your jokes, Capricorn—malicious humor isn't always the best way to make or keep friends.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18): Surreal Humor

Ah, our eccentric Aquarius. You definitely have a unique view of the world. Although you're highly intelligent, you also have a tendency to step out of the box and do things that other people might consider odd. Surreal humor definitely speaks to your quirky side, Aquarius. This type of humor focuses on events or actions that are obviously illogical, which is exactly what makes them so funny to you. Not only does it violate all sense of reason, which you just find hilarious, it also embraces your nonlinear thinking and independent approach to the world.

Pisces (Feb. 19 – March 20): Sarcastic Humor

You're an incredibly empathetic and understanding sign, Pisces. You simply want to help other people around you reach their fullest potential, which is an admirable quality. The only humor that really speaks to you is sarcasm. While it can occasionally be biting and uncomfortable, usually it's more of an effort to diffuse the awkwardness of a situation and help everyone to feel comfortable by eliciting a laugh. You can totally relate to this mission, Pisces, and you just do your best to stay away from the harsher elements of sarcastic humor.
