Victoria Justice Solo Album Details and More!
Following the end of the hit Nickelodeon show, Victorious, Victoria Justice has remained busy with her Summer Break Tour, releasing the single "Gold," and working on her a Victoria Justice solo album!
Victoria explained to MTV News that thy whole cast of Victorious were selected because they were so musical, and that solo careers for the singers seems the next logical step.
"It was just natural for us to want to put out our own music," Victoria said. "And Victorious was great practice for me."
Victorious was Victoria's first experience singing professionally in a studio. Recording the songs for the show, she learned the tools of the trade. Victoria actually wrote three songs that appeared on Victorious. It gave her a chance to show off a skill on top of acting and singing.
"That was really exciting," she explained. "I think it really just set me up in the right way to be able to do both. I'm passionate about both."
Now that Victoria is a solo artist, she has a lot more freedom over what she sings, and is in total control of her debut album.
"I want it to be a little more mature," she said. "I'm 20 years old now, so I've grown a lot as a songwriter, as well."
Victoria explained that the album will have a purely pop sound, experimenting with all of the different things pop can be. Besides her hit single "Gold," she's especially excited about one new track.
"I'm super excited about, and it's one of my favorites that I've ever written," Victoria said. "I'm just exploring with a bunch of different sounds. It's been really fun getting to write most of my music."
Victoria wouldn't name the song, but said that it will remind us of "Just The Way You Are" by Bruno Mars, but with the roles reversed.
"It's a really, really fun, catchy song, and as soon as you hear it, you want to snap your fingers and dance and automatically makes you happy. It's really, really upbeat," she said.
Who else is super excited for Victoria to finish writing songs so she can release the new album?
