You're Lacking Self Confidence
Being confident in high school is sort of an oxymoron. Everyone is trying to figure out who they are and find their way, so it's totally normal to not be completely confident in who you are just yet. That said, confidence is really appealing, so if you're overly critical of yourself, you may be lacking the necessary swagger to build a connection with someone. Hence why the first kiss hasn't happened.
You're Too Shy
There's something mysterious about being shy, but it can also be a turnoff. If someone's into you and shows interest, but you're too shy to reciprocate, then chances are they're taking that as a signal you're not interested. Shake the shyness, and a kiss will probably be right around the corner.
You Haven't Made the First Move
Making a move on someone isn't easy, but if you want that kiss, sometimes you gotta go out and get it. If you've built a connection with someone, but no one has gone in for the smooch, be the captain of your kiss destiny and just go for it.

Look, we're not saying that you should lock lips with just anyone, especially for your first time, but a part of being a teen is having life experiences that help you make better decisions in the future. If you're itching to have your first kiss, and have had opportunities to have one but have turned them down, then you might be a wee too picky. A first kiss is fun no doubt, but it isn't everything it's talked up to be in movies. There are no fireworks and no music on cue—however you might get butterflies. Practice makes perfect so why not lower your standards just a bit?

Sometimes when we like someone, we express our interest in odd ways. One of the most common things we do are act mean or pick on them. Why would you tease someone you like? It happens often but perhaps you're being a little too hard on the first kiss-candidates in your life?
