A Definitive Ranking of Common Jellybean Flavors
Aside from April 22 marking Earth Day, it also celebrates another thing we love: jellybeans!
Today marks National Jellybean Day, commemorating one of the most underrated candies. You can simply pop a few into your mouth and be satisfied, and there are so many different flavors to choose from (even bad ones, if you've ever tried the Harry Potter Bamboozled challenge—but we'll spare you that for today).

Below, discover our definitive ranking of popular jellybean flavors in honor of the holiday.
9. Licorice
We are actually people who don't despise licorice. For example, we almost always opt for Twizzlers at the movie theater. Black licorice, however, is a different story. It lacks flavor, and the flavor it does have is pretty indistinct. We're not repulsed by it, but we'd prefer to have something more interesting.

8. Lemon
We are very particular with anything lemon-flavored. When it's sweet, we enjoy it, but some companies have the tendency of making it overly sour, leaning into bitter territory. Since it's a hit or miss, we can't rank it too high. More consistency would give it a well-deserved boost, though.

7. Green Apple
Again, green apple has the potential to be delicious—subtly sweet with just the right amount of sour. Then, there are other moments when it is extra tart. Sadly, we aren't the biggest fans of a sour apple. Although, we can't resist it when we receive the sweet version.
6. Grape
There is something about fruit flavors that jellybean flavors can't get right. Grape fits closely next to lemon and green apple. That said, many people don't offer sour grape jellybeans. Instead, it simply isn't as sweet as we'd like it to be. That said, it's not the kind of flavor we'd avoid in an assorted bag.
5. Cotton Candy
If you were to ask us our opinions on cotton candy, we'd tell you we like i, but for some reason, we never crave it. We feel the same way about the jellybean flavor. We'd probably acknowledge it was enjoyable to eat. Simultaneously, you'll never see us going out of our way to find it.

4. Root Beer
Forget colas and lemon-lime sodas. Everyone knows the superior pop is root beer. Jellybean companies have done a fantastic job transforming it into bite-sized candies. It tastes exactly the same—delicious. It's kind of weird mentally to eat them, though, because we're used to tasting the flavor out of an ice-cold can.

3. Tutti Frutti
Sometimes, we can't decide what fruit flavor we'd like to try. Tutti Frutti makes our lives easy by combining them all into one. This classic jellybean flavor instantly reminds us of our favorite fruit-flavored cereals. It also even has a slight vanilla tone, kind of acting as the jellybean's cereal milk.
2. Buttered Popcorn
We never would expect to like a popcorn-flavored jellybean. There is something about it that works fabulously with the texture of a chewy bean. The "buttered" aspect gives the jellybean a delightful pop of saltiness. Meanwhile, the popcorn is quite sweet. It's the kind of flavor we could eat an entire bag of if not careful

1. Cherry
Cherry is constantly an exception to the fruit rule. Without fail, this is the best flavor any candy could eat. It taste the same across virtually every brand, and it's extra tasty in all of them. They have the perfect balance of sweet and sour.
Really, no one should be surprised it ranks at No. 1. It's been called the fan-favorite flavor in the United State for decades.
