Now that I’ve been working at home for almost two years, my hair has never been healthier.
I rarely use heat on my hair and let it air dry for the most part, and my locks have never been longer or fuller! One thing I have wanted to improve is the texture and feel of my hair. It’s been feeling a bit lackluster, so when the team behind Authentic Beauty Concept asked if I’d like to try out some of their hair products for myself, I was more than willing to give them a try. Look below to learn all about Authentic Beauty Concept and my experience with the products they sent.
Authentic Beauty Concept offers products for dry hair, colored hair, fine hair, damaged hair and all other hair types. Their products are all vegan, cruelty-free and free of parabens, silicones and microplastics. The brand is all about embracing natural beauty and approaches hair with a minimalistic approach.
They sent me two products from their Hydrate line made for dry hair, which is available exclusively at Ulta. The line smells absolutely amazing thanks to ingredients like mango, basil and guar extract. Think of soft cotton and light floral fragrance, and that’s exactly what you get. They also sent me a hair oil from their line for all hair types. This included hints of peony, rose, violet and freesia.
One of the best feelings ever is running your hands through super soft hair. If you agree, you’ll understand why I was excited to try out the Hydrate Cleansing Conditioner. I love it when a conditioner promises and delivers, and that’s just what happened here.
After shampooing, I put a generous amount of the product into my hands, warmed it up and put it throughout my hair, avoiding the roots. After working it in and letting it emulsify, I washed it out. I left it in for about three minutes total, and it was more than enough time to bring some much-needed hydration to my locks.
Part of the reason my hair is so dry might have something to do with the fact that I don’t brush it that often. I like the look of my natural, wavy locks, and brushing it makes my hair frizz up! So when the time comes to wash and brush my hair, it can get pretty tangled.
I was excited to get my hands on the Hydrate Spray Conditioner and to see if it worked. After washing with the Hydrate Cleansing Conditioner and towel-drying my hair, I shook the bottle and generously sprayed it all over my hair. I grabbed my Wet brush, ran it through my hair and was pleased with how easy the process was! There was hardly any pulling and it felt rather seamless. Overall, I was really happy with how this leave-in conditioner turned out.
Last on my haul to try out was the Nourishing Hair Oil. I love all oils—whether it’s EVOO for my food or an oil for my face, I want them all. So it’s safe to say I was most eager to try out this product. After testing out the two above products from the Hydrate line, it was time to put the oil to the test.
I put a small amount into my hand and warmed it up, rubbing my hands together for a few seconds. I then evenly spread the product throughout the ends of my hair, which was still damp. I then twisted my hair into a bun and slept on it that night, only to reveal beautiful, shiny and soft hair the next morning. The oil promises to seal split ends, boost shine and smooth frizz. And while it’s too soon to tell whether my split ends will be healed, I can without a doubt say my hair was definitely shinier and frizz-free.
Overall, I am super pleased with my experience with Authentic Beauty Concept. The prices are fair for the formulas and packaging, not to mention it looks super chic! I loved how all of the products felt in my hair and would definitely recommend them to anyone on the hunt for starting up a new haircare routine. If I had to choose a favorite, I’d probably go with the Hydrate Spray Conditioner. It left my hair feeling super soft and I’m already looking forward to using it again.
