The Best Colors to Wear to Complement Your Hair Color

While we don't subscribe to any set of rules when it comes to fashion, we do love highlighting our best assets.

It's no secret that certain colors look better together than others, which is why if you really want to stand out, it's a good idea to wear a shade that complements your mane. For those days you really want to stand out, below are the colors you should always wear, based on your hair color.

Platinum Blonde: Reds and Blues

Icy white platinum blonde makes a statement and looks brilliant when paired with something equally as bold. Your best look? True red or any shade of blue.

Warm Blondes: Bright, Warm Tones

Blondes tend to look best in bright, uplifting tones. Think yellows, oranges and rust, as well as soft warm neutrals like cream, taupe and beige.

Light Brown: Saturated Colors

For light brown babes that air on the ashier side (ie. cooler tones), reach for saturated shades instead of pastels. Since your hair is a neutral color, all will work with your hair color as long as they have more pigment.

Warm Brunettes: Olive and Deep Purple

Warm brunettes who live in the auburn and chestnut arena have one color that truly makes them look incredible: olive! Deep purple is a close second—both of which will enhance the warmth of your rich shade.
