Here’s Every Item You Should Include in Your Gym Duffle Bag

Is it just us, or does anyone else seem to always forget something they needed to take with them to the gym? Even worse, not having all the right items can quickly discourage us from completing a fulfilling workout.

These days, we often carry a duffle bag to ensure we always have the right items. Below, we've gathered a list of essentials to include in your bag, too, so you can have the most robust exercise session ever.

Insulated Water Bottle

Since you will sweat through your workout, you will want to stay hydrated and replenish the electrolytes you may lose. If not, you may risk passing out. We prefer to bring an insulated water bottle because we always enjoy cool water. With the right bottle, your beverage will remain the same temperature throughout your entire gym sesh.

Headphones

There is nothing worse than going to the gym and realizing you forgot your headphones. Our carefully curated playlist is why we are able to make it through our exercise with ease! Music hypes us up. Without it, you might just have to listen to the sounds of weights dropping and people grunting as they attempt to a new level on the machines. And no one wants that.

Deodorant

Well, when you will be sweating, there is a strong chance you will also smell. If you know you are someone who gets sour odor, apply some deodorant before you begin to exercise. After you finish, you can reapply it after (in case you might be in too much of a time crunch to take a quick shower).

Resistance Bands

Some gyms have more supplies than others, especially when it comes to smaller equipment. More than likely, they'll have an assortment of weights and a few mats and medicine balls. But for niche items, like resistance bands, it might be difficult to find them. Bring your own to the gym to ensure you can complete your workout with ease. Plus, you won't have to worry about all the germs from the public.

Hand Sanitizer

The floating body fluid is practically a breeding ground for bacteria, and we've all seen those people who refuse to clean the machines after they finish using them. Who knows what dirt could be floating on your hands once you leave? Get a quick clean from hand sanitizer to kill all those pesky germs.

Bring Your Own Weights

Okay, your gym probably has their own weights, but as we mentioned earlier, you might feel motivated by going to a public gym but don't appreciate the whole shared equipment thing. You can keep things localized by bringing your own weights, and you'll never have to worry about someone swooping in and taking the specific weight you need.

Journal

Do you have specific health goals? Bringing a journal can help you stay on track with your progress. For inspiration, consider writing down the exact movements and number of reps you did. Or, you can log the amount of calories you burn with each workout. Don't forget to include a sentence or two about your mood after completing your exercise!
