HEYOON Shares the Dream That Inspired Her Infectious Third Solo Single, Addicted’
There's no denying that Korean artist and choreographer HEYOON is a pop sensation, first making her name as a member of NOW UNITED, and now proving her skills as a popular soloist.
Since last year, she's shared her first solo singles, "Pivot" featuring Armani White and "ASAP" featuring Chris Patrick. Today July 31, she dropped her third track with Universal Music Korea, "Addicted." With a breezy and infectious U.K. garage house sound, the song tackles the all-too-relatable topic of infatuation, creating a vibe that effortlessly matches the title. HEYOON is further cementing her status as a global pop artist, and in the interview below, we caught up with the star to learn all about "Addicted" and what makes it so hard to resist.
Sweety High: What was the inspiration behind "Addicted"?
HEYOON: It was inspired by a dream I had—a fantasy creature that lives in the R.E.M. state world.
SH: What does the song mean to you, and what do you hope it means to your listeners?
HEYOON: Name says it all! "Addicted" has been on repeat on my phone for months since we wrote it—I hope fans love it as much as I do, and hope it translates how much fun I had working on this one just by listening.
