Malcolm Todd Sets Fire to the Filmore in NOLA on Final Tour Stop
Malcolm Todd wrapped up his tour in true celebratory fashion on Thursday night, Sep. 25, in New Orleans. He left fans both breathless and grateful that they got to witness the final stop of a run that's only elevated his name as one of alt-pop's most magnetic rising performers.
From the jump, Malcolm brought all the heat to NOLA. He has a knack for making every space feel like an intimate jam show, even when hundreds of fans are packed in, chanting every word back to him. His little dance moves, subtle but infectious, were almost as much a part of the performance as the songs themselves. The crowd cheered him on each time he leaned into the groove, feeding off the joy he clearly couldn't keep contained.
Malcolm also impressed the audience with his ability to play the strings while singing. He picked up his guitar multiple times throughout the night, and each strum seemed to reset the tone. Sometimes it was raw and emotional, other times playful and carefree, but always seamless. One of his most impressive skills was the way he effortlessly transitioned from instrumentals back into vocals without losing a drop of energy, almost as if it were instinct, and it had the room locked in for the entire night.

Between songs, Malcolm's banter with the crowd was pure NOLA spirit: loose, funny and effortlessly engaging. He cracked jokes, took in the wild energy of the audience and gave shoutouts that felt genuine rather than rehearsed. But what stood out most was how quickly he could snap right back into the heart of a song, like flipping a switch.
The weight of it being the last stop wasn't lost on him or his fans. Malcolm reflected on the journey, thanking the crowd for riding with him all the way to the finish line. You could feel both the bittersweetness and the joy, with the New Orleans audience rising to the occasion, dancing, singing and turning the show into a proper sendoff.
