Benson Boone Brought Heart and Soul to His American Heart Tour Performance in Fort Worth
Benson Boone lit up the night in Fort Worth, Texas, on Saturday, Sep. 20, as part of his American Heart Tour.
The singer-songwriter took the stage in front of a massive crowd delivering belts, beautiful lyricism and of course, backflips. Grab your moonbean ice cream and continue reading for our full review of the show.
Benson opened with the catchy "I Wanna Be the One You Call," immediately establishing the night's tone. From there, he barreled into "Wanted Man" and "Sorry I'm Here for Someone Else," toggling between gleaming pop and bruised storytelling, all while the production painted the mood in broad, cinematic strokes: strobes and LED columns that pulsed in time with the kick drum, and a runway that let him clap back and forth with the floor. Truly, the stage design was made for his energy; we wouldn't change a thing.

Aside from the stage design, Benson delivered on all fronts. His stamina proved to be his best friend throughout the night, letting him run, flip and dance his way up and down the stage. The live vocals, switching between his upper and lower registers, were executed perfectly, with the crowd, ourselves included, physically gasping at his sound. He also effortlessly played piano while singing several songs. Oh, and did we mention the floating candle moment where he swung across the arena, still keeping perfect pitch?
Benson also always delivers a secret cover song each night by way of T-shirt canon. For Fort Worth, that song was "Yellow," by Coldplay, a crowd favorite and one that Benson made his own. If there ever was a person made to be a singer, it would be Benson. We could go back and watch this show time and time again and never get bored, because he's the type to push himself vocally and deliver an even better-sounding live performance than the album.

For anyone wondering if they should hit up one of Benson's shows on this tour, this is your clear sign to do so. You're sure to get a memorable anecdote about love from the artist, and his opener, Brooke Combe, is one to watch as well.
With this tour, Benson showed what it means to be a pop star. He has grown so much since the success of "Beautiful Things," and it's only up from here.
