On finding out Big Hero 6 had been nominated…

It was the morning of the Critic's Choice and I was so focused on that and getting my outfit together, that I totally blanked and didn't find out until way later in the day. People were tweeting me at 6 or 7 in the morning telling me to check out nominations, but I didn't check Twitter. It's just been wish fulfillment. Being nominated alongside some of these films is just unreal and amazing. There are really no other words.

On the prospect of an Oscar nomination…

When I was making the movie, the Oscars weren't even on my mind. The only thing on my mind was making sure I gave the directors and the producers what they wanted and to live up to the Disney name. Everything else has been a second thought. It's all a testament to Disney's magic.

Why Big Hero 6 got nominated…

One of the main reasons the film is nominated and why it was so successful is because of the diversity. It's refreshing to be able to watch a film and see a variety of faces, a variety of characters, a variety of personalities. It's not a cookie cutter cast. Every single one of these characters is represented by an actor in real life. They're very relatable, very real characters. I think the audience and the critics related to the film.

On Oscar night plans…

I've already got an outfit planned and everything, but I'm not really a big partier. I'd rather spend the night at home with a couple friends and watch the Oscars. But if I get invited, I'd love to go to support the filmmakers.

On being the star of an Oscar-nominated film…

I don't think it's any different than being the supporting character in an Oscar-nominated film. It's such a huge honor that I don't think that any one person deserves more credit or more praise. Even the assistants that worked on the film can appreciate the nomination as much as I can. It's such a huge honor. Disney's just done such a phenomenal job with the film and I'm just happy to be a part of it.
