Shawn Mendes Just Broke His Own Record, Because He's That Good
With his 20th birthday coming in a week, Shawn Mendes set an even higher bar for the musicians who come after him.
The 19-year-old pop singer just beat a record that he himself set less than a year ago: He earned his fourth No. 1 on Billboard's Adult Pop Songs radio airplay chart, and he's the only artist to have done so before the age of 20!
Even with three No. 1 songs, Shawn had the most of any artist before age 20, but clearly he didn't rest of his laurels. The singer's new record comes with the success of his single "In My Blood," which is No. 1 for the chart dated Aug. 4, according to Billboard.
He last held the spot with "There's Nothing Holding Me Back," which grabbed the honor in September 2017. His other No. 1s are "Stitches" and "Treat You Better," both of which hit the top of chart in 2016.
It seems Shawn is rightfully proud of the honor. He retweeted the Billboard Twitter account's announcement of the news.
