6 Ways to Feel Productive While You’re on Winter Break

Most people reserve winter break to do nothing, but if you're anything like us, you begin to feel restless and unproductive after lounging on the couch for multiple days. Thankfully, there are ways to relax while keeping your body and brain active.

Below, discover six things you can do over the next couple of weeks to feel even more productive.

Reading the Book You've Been Putting Off for Weeks

While at work or school, we often forgo reading for leisure because it takes up time we don't have. Since we have a few weeks off, we can finally open the novels we've craved. If you're a fast reader, you might even go through multiple series before you return to class or your job in 2025.

Start That One Hobby You've Been Dreaming About

Hobbies are an investment of money and time. When you are busy completing projects, you simply do not have the resources to get the ball rolling. Winter break still might not allow enough time to master it, but you certainly will have enough space to build a foundation for it.

Catch Up on Some Self-Care

It's sad to admit, but we've skipped self-care to work many times. This winter break, however, will be all about us.

On your mini-vacation, use this time to refresh your skin with a mask, take a soothing bath and schedule the massage you've been wanting. When you go back to reality, you'll feel so renewed that you can take on anything.

Tackle the Chores You Missed During Christmas Prep

Have you been pulling all-nighter through December? If you had that much work to do, you probably had to skip washing dishes and doing laundry. Winter break is the perfect time to reset your home. After all, there's nothing else to do.

Reaching Out to Your Loved Ones

When we get into a groove while working, we forget the world around us exists. That means we have plenty of missed texts and calls. Since you (and your friends and family) will have extra time on your hands, make a few calls reminding them that you love them. You know, just in case you forget to respond again in 2025.

Getting Ahead on Your Work in the New Year

When the first day of winter break begins, you probably won't enter vacation mode immediately. So, you can knock out some of those assignments coming in early 2025. If you plan right, you'll still get some days off and have a lighter load once everyone's back in business.
