5 Reasons You Shouldn’t Feel Bad About Not Traveling on Spring Break
While spring break should be a time of rest and relaxation, it sometimes feels more like a competition to see who will have the best getaway. You'll probably notice your peers posting carefree photos from tropical vacations and amusement parks. It's normal to get FOMO—or feel disappointed that you'll be staying home for the next seven days.
Really, don't fret. Below, we've gathered five reasons why not going anywhere for spring break isn't so bad.
Vacation Is Stressful
We'll be the first to say that vacation isn't always the relaxing event you'd like it to be, especially if you travel with a large group. You'll be spending a lot of time in close proximity with your loved ones, and arguments are bound to arise. Plus, when you have a stacked itinerary, you will be racing to cross everything off your list. When you stay home, you can truly do nothing, which is an underrated blessing.

You Will Save Money
As much as we love planning a vacation, our wallets don't appreciate it. You have to pay for transportation to and from the destination plus lodging. You could be looking at a four-digit pricetag, and that doesn't even include the souvenirs and meals you'll have to pay for on your trip. If anything, at home, you can save money, which can benefit a future getaway.

Your Hometown Will Be Quiet
We appreciate small town-living because of how quiet it is. If your hometown is anything like us, it's grown exponentially over the past decade, creating hectic crowds and irritating traffic. When your area has spring break, you'll notice how it's even quieter. Everyone's gone or off work, meaning you can explore and revisit areas with no headache.

You Have Time to Tie Up Loose Ends
We would do anything for a week of nothing. Come on, think about how much you could get done. You can clean your entire house (probably twice), reorganize your closet and more. Lucky enough to not have any household chores to worry about? Use the time to catch up on your schoolwork, so you'll be extra prepared when it's back in session.
You Can Finally Be a Couch Potato
When we wait for our next break, we mostly dream about the days when we could lay around and watch television. Because of how hectic the semester can be, it's challenging to get time to catch up on your favorite television shows or book series. With seven days of no responsibilities, you can binge your favorite content and then some.
