5 Reasons We Always Wished We Had a Sister Growing Up
Today is National Siblings Day, but sadly, not all of us are lucky to have a sibling, let alone a sister.
In celebration of National Siblings Day, check out five reasons we've always dreamed of having a sister.
Someone to Borrow and Share Clothes With
We're kicking it off with our silliest reason: sharing clothes. We hear so many hilarious stories about sisters searching through each other's closets. It might be aggravating, but we imagine it is one of those memories you'd look fondly on. If we had a sister, we would gladly share our pieces with them.

Someone to Look Up To—or Teach
Whether you are a younger or older sister, you can learn a lot from each other. The older sister will teach the younger sister what to expect as they age. Meanwhile, the younger sister might be able to keep the older sister up to date about what's happening in their age group. Plus, it's pretty rewarding to know you taught someone something meaningful.

Someone Who Is a Built-In Friend
As an only child, you are likely very familiar with being alone. You don't have anyone to hang out with at home but your parents, who might not understand what it's like to be a modern-day young adult. But you're out of luck if all your friends are busy. Having a sister is like always having someone by your side to take every adventure with.
Someone Who Will Never Judge You for Being Silly
Although we have our friends who we would never expect to judge us, there is always that fear we might be too weird. Connected by blood, you won't be able to truly rid yourself of your sister. They have to take you for who you are. Hey, they might even lean into the weirdness with you.

Someone to Always Have Your Back
Similarly, having a sister means you will instantly have loyalty from your bloodline. As family, you will likely go through much more together than you would as friends. It's nice to know you can always debrief about your relative's tea and not have to dwell in those downs (and ups) alone.
