8 Films and Shows to Watch If You Can’t Get Enough of David Corenswet After Superman

It's been less than a week since the release of James Gunn's Superman on Friday, July 11, and everyone is buzzing about the film's message of hope, humanity and kindness—and its titular star.

David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman has everything it takes to be Hollywood's next big star, and if you're wondering why you haven't seen more of him, you're not alone. He's got the looks, the charisma and the talent, and lucky for all of us, his filmography goes back more than a decade. Craving more after Superman? We recommend starting with the eight series and films below.

Moe & Jerryweather (2014–2016)

Curious about what David Corenswet is about beyond his acting? Look no further than his sketch comedy series, Moe & Jerryweather, which David co-created and co-wrote with costar Adam Langdon. Over two seasons of short episodes, the series follows the titular duo, Moe and Jerry, as they try to make names for themselves in the comedy world. It's a fascinating glimpse into David's sense of humor (and available to watch in its entirety on YouTube).

The Politician (2019–2020)

We jump ahead a few years to The Politician, a captivating Ryan Murphy drama following Ben Platt as Payton Hobart, who starts the series as a high schooler with ambitions to one day become president of the United States. David plays River Barton, Payton's opponent in the election for student body president (and his ex). Some serious drama unfolds between them—and if you want to see more of David, we encourage you to watch beyond the first episode (and even into the second season), regardless of the events that unfold.

HBO's critically acclaimed We Own This City mini-series is based on a true story, illuminating rampant corruption within the Baltimore Police Department's Gun Trace Task Force in the late 2010s. David Corenswet plays David McDougal, an investigator with the Harford County Narcotics Task Force who helps uncover a massive conspiracy between the corrupt officers and local drug dealers amid riots and rising unrest in Baltimore.

Look Both Ways (2022)

Do you ever think about how one decision can completely change the course of your life? That idea is explored in Look Both Ways, starring Lili Reinhart as Natalie. On the night before her college graduation, after taking a pregnancy test, her life splits into two potential realities—one with the positive test, and one with the negative test—with the film following both storylines. We meet David's character, Jake, in the negative test scenario, which sees Natalie moving to L.A. to pursue her dream of becoming an animator.

Pearl (2022)

If you're a horror fiend, you can't miss Ti West's Pearl. The film takes place in 1918, following the titular Pearl, a violent young woman whose husband is away at war, and who will do absolutely anything to become a star to escape the misery of living on her family's farm. David plays an unnamed projectionist who encourages Pearl's ambitions. They have an affair, though things don't go so smoothly for him once he recognizes Pearl's true nature.

The Greatest Hits (2024)

Anyone in the mood for a rom-com (with a twist) will appreciate The Greatest Hits. It follows a woman named Harriet (played by Lucy Boynton) who discovers that listening to certain meaningful songs literally transports her to the past, allowing her to relieve beloved memories with Max (played by David), who died two years ago in a car crash. Will Harriet cling to her lost love, or open herself up to new romance when David (played by Justin H. Min) comes into her life?

Twisters (2024)

And finally, for fast thrills and impending disaster, fans should check out David in 2024's Twisters, the sequel to 1996's Twister. The movie follows Kate, a meteorology student who quit storm chasing after several colleagues were killed in an experiment. Years later, she joins a team with the only other survivor, Javi, and his business partner Scott (played by David Corenswet) to test new tornado scanning technology. The team find themselves at odds with popular YouTube storm chaser Tyler and his crew, who may have more to them than meets the eye.
