If You’re Obsessed With Coffee, You’ll Relate to These 9 Truths

If you're one of those people who wake up at the sound of their alarm with a smile on their face and an attitude ready to take on the day, congrats! But we most certainly don't fall into that category.

Typically, it takes a lot of self-motivation, deep breaths and multiple alarms to finally get us out of bed, and even then, we need something else—coffee. Without coffee, don't even try to talk to us, start a conversation or ask us about anything. You either won't receive an answer, or you'll get a super snarky one. Sound familiar? If you're obsessed with coffee, you'll relate to the following nine truths.

1. You Can't Function Without Your Morning Cup of Joe

If someone tries to speak to you before you've brewed your morning cup of coffee, they won't know what hit them. And forget about getting anything useful done before your caffeine fix—it's not going to happen!

2. You Are Very Particular About How You Make Your Coffee at Home

Whether you're simple and use a Keurig, or like to brew your own coffee with a French press, you know exactly what you like. And it doesn't stop there. From the brand of coffee beans to your creamer to your almond milk, you like everything to be just right.

3. You Only Trust a Few Coffee Shops to Make Your Drink Just Right

If you feel like treating yourself to a $5 cup of coffee, macchiato, latte or something else, there are only a few established coffee shops you trust to make your drink just right. Whether it's a chain like Starbucks or a local small business, you know who you can get just how you like it.

4. Your Local Barista Knows Your Order Before You Open Your Mouth

While your order changes from time to time, for the most part, you stick with one order, and your local barista knows it by heart. They'll greet you by name and ask if you want the usual.

5. You Have an Overflowing Pantry Full of Coffee Mugs

You have an overwhelming amount of coffee mugs in your pantry. We hate to be the ones to say it, but it might be time to get rid of that chipped one that's still your favorite.

6. You Don't Discriminate Against All the Types of Coffee

You have one typical coffee you go for, but from time to time, you like to switch things up. Whether it's something as decadent as a frappuccino, strong as a cold brew or delicious as a latte, you love them all.

7. You Show Up Late to Places With a Cup of Coffee in Hand

Even if you know you're going to be late somewhere, you will still stop for coffee. At this point, people expect it of you, so you don't really care. After all, without your coffee, you're not you!

8. You Get a Headache if You Don't Get Your Caffeine Fix

Caffeine withdrawal is a real thing, and if for some reason you weren't able to get your coffee fix, expect a headache to ensue. It's a lose-lose situation because the only ways to get rid of the headaches are to either continue drinking coffee or to deal with them for a week during your cold turkey withdrawal process.

9. You Spend an Obscene Amount of Money on Fancy Coffee

Whether you prefer a cup of coffee from the comfort of your own home or one from a coffee shop, you still find ways to spend tons of money. It might be those beans you have imported or that fancy order you always get at the shop—whatever the reason may be, you have a large coffee budget.
