These Will Be the Biggest Fashion and Beauty Trends in 2017
New year, new you, right?
Okay, we'll admit New Year's resolutions can be way too much of a commitment. But there's nothing wrong with switching up your style and ushering in some fun new fashion and beauty trends.

Last year, chokers, velvet, matte lipsticks and slicked back hair reigned supreme—so what's going to be cool this year? We've rounded up our predictions so you can be the trendsetter!
1. '80s Baby
The 1980's have been heralded as one of the worst decades for fashion and beauty, but that didn't stop designers from taking a cue from this crazy decade in 2017. Test the waters by playing with blue eye shadow or a baby pink pout, or both! And why stop there? Incorporate some '80s flare into your wardrobe with shoulder pad-clad jackets and bright leotards.
2. Mellow Yellows and Baby Pinks
Yellow is totally an underrated color… until now! Last year, camel ruled, but yellow and pink are taking over this year, so start investing in these pretty shades, stat! Expect to see everything from red carpet gowns to billowy tops coated in light lemon shades and bold pink hues.
3. More Mules
Ah, the mule. We are kind of obsessed with mules here at Sweety High because they're cool and comfortable. You can wear them right now with tights and socks, and with dresses and skirts when the temperatures rise.
4. Au Natural Makeup
It's no secret that the Kardashians pave the way when it comes to fashion and beauty, so we took some major notes when we started spotting Kim without her usual heavy contour and spider lashes towards the end of 2016. Fresh skin is very much in for 2017, according to Kim's longtime makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic. Think healthy skin, neutral lip gloss, and barely-there mascara.
5. Athluxury
Okay, we'll admit, we saw this word on Vogue.com and haven't been able to get it out of our head. Athleisure has been around for awhile—think Gigi Hadid's classic leggings + bra + cool jacket and sneaks combo—but the trend is now getting a stylish, chic upgrade. Start picking up pieces like fancy tennis skirts, tailored track jackets and pretty polos.
6. Slogans > Logos
Logos took over 2016. In fact, it was hard to scroll through instagram without seeing an iconic Gucci "G," Chanel "C" or Hermes "H." Thankfully for our wallets, 2017 is all about uplifting slogans, like "be your own hero," "girl power," and "too rad to be sad."
7. Stripe Crazy
Stripes are always a mainstay in our closets, but expect to see even more of the pattern this year. We spotted stripes covering just about everything from wide leg palazzo pants to coats, and we're in love.
8. Super Sleek and Long
After years of the LOB and the shag, hair is reaching longer and longer lengths this year. Super straight, sleek hair is going to be big this year. And the best part? You can totally fake this look with clip-in extensions and a hair straightener.
