Follow These Expert Tips to Ace Your Holiday Party Look This Year
So many holiday parties, so little time (and budget), amirite?!
That said, we have the perfect style template to get you through the rest of December, regardless of how many fetes are on your agenda.
Whitney Olson—co-owner of chic West Hollywood, California, salon RA_Bar Beauty—gave Sweety High the lowdown on the five things you need in order to turn heads at every holiday party you attend this year!
Scroll below for Whitney's recommended hair, beauty and style tips:
1. All Velvet Everything
"The '90s are back full-force this holiday season," Whitney says. "I feel like people are bringing more velvet into their wardrobes, especially during holidays when everyone wants to dress everything up. They're also wearing velvet chokers around their necks in different colors."

2. Be Bold (Lipped)
"A red color on your lips" is what Olson advises when it comes to nailing your holiday beauty look. "Nars makes an amazing red color. They make chubby pencils, and those are amazing. I'm just thinking deep, yummy warm tones are happening."
I think it's safe to say this is a perfect holiday look. Regram from @annapriadka: So excited to be able to share this Stylist Sneak Peek of the NARS Holiday Collection! 3. Bedazzle Your 'Do!
"Girls are wearing jewelry for their hair," Olson explains. "They're wearing very beautiful hair accessories, whether it be a decorated bobby pin with semi-precious stones or even a beautiful headband with stones in it that you wear draped across your forehead. People are dressing up their bobby pins and fastening their hair with more than just an elastic, whether it's rhinestones or even a piece of velvet fabric. It's not just your gym ponytail."

4. Keep Your Mane Moisturized
It goes without saying, but cold weather dries out our hair and skin. Like with our body, our mane needs moisturizing as well, in the form of masques and shine sprays. Shiny, bouncy locks will definitely make a statement during your holiday party rounds. "You want a hair masque once a week," Olson, who recommends Kevin Murphy's products, advises. "You don't necessarily need these during the summer because your hair is not as dry. Smoothing creams and hair oils are so good. We have organic oils at our salon that we use on the scalp, as well as the ends of the hair."
5. Go Big (Browed) Or Go Home!
Yep, those luscious Cara Delevingne-esque eyebrows are still very much a thing. "We want bigger, fuller brows," Olson says. "We want to tint the brows, we want to fill in the brows, we want to have good, yummy brows."
