Singer-songwriter Matt Hansen may still be an independent artist, but with more than a billion streams under his belt, you'd never know he wasn't a star on a major label.
He's won over fans around the world with his rich and resonant vocals and emotive, deeply relatable songwriting, delivering viral hits including "something to remember," "LET EM GO" and "better off without me," and he's giving fans even more to look forward to in the coming months.
Last week, Matt kicked off a sold-out headline tour across Australia and New Zealand, and in the new year, he'll be touring across North America with Dean Lewis. On Friday, he also dropped his latest single, the shimmering, feel-good pop track "Don't Look Back." It's another instant classic propelled by Matt's soulful voice as he sings about learning to leave the past in your past and embrace what lies ahead instead. It's a message we can all take to heart, and he told us all about the song and more in our interview with him below as this week's Man Crush Monday.

Matt Hansen: "Don't Look Back" is a song about leaving the past in the past. Some moments are better left behind you, especially as you're trying to let someone go. It's a song I wrote to myself to remember that some trauma doesn't need to be dredged up all the time. It shouldn't define you.

Matt: Your own time and energy is precious and you shouldn't waste it on people who try to drain it from you.
