1. Lyn Lapid Finds Herself With Debut Album, BUZZKILL

We've been following viral TikTok phenomenon and musical artist Lyn Lapid for half a decade now, and her relatable songwriting prowess and effervescent sound are on full display with her new debut album, BUZZKILL. Written over the last few years, its dozen tracks—including singles "coraline" and "i'll be happy when"—use buzzy pop vibes to tell her true story of disconnection and solitude moving from Maryland to L.A. to follow her music dreams. The songs weave a resonant coming-of-age story about the road to self-discovery and acceptance, and the idea that maybe feeling like a "buzzkill" is telling you something.

"Moving to the West Coast was a struggle," Lyn revealed in a press release. "It was the first time I was in a new place by myself, and I didn't know anyone outside of my roommates. I'd go to parties because I thought it was better than being alone. It was an attempt to find community, but it just became a cycle of meaningless interactions. Every time I went out with my friends, I felt like a 'buzzkill' because it seemed like I had always brought the mood down. However, it only seemed that way because I was with the wrong people. I needed to accept that I shouldn't have to force myself to settle for surface-level friendships and relationships. It opened an opportunity to find new and truly meaningful connections and friendships."

2. Karissa Ella Writes a Love Letter to Her Mom With 'Mamas Do'

Rising country singer-songwriter Karissa Ella has had a very busy 2025 so far, releasing "Heartbreaker" in January and "Last Call Cowboy" in February, but her latest single ""Mamas Do"" is our favorite from her yet. The heartfelt track arrives just ahead of the Mother's Day holiday as an ode to her mom and the special comfort only the unconditional love a doting mother can provide. It comes to life over lush vocals and slowly plucked guitar strings, akin to a lullaby, as she sings about the power her mom has to soothe her soul, even in the face of crushing heartbreak.

"'Mamas Do' came from that moment we all face—when we know we might be making a mistake, but we need to find out for ourselves," Karissa shared in a press release. "It's a love letter to the one person who never says, 'I told you so,' even when she could. My mama has always been my safe place to land, and this song reflects that kind of quiet, unconditional love. Sometimes growing up means falling down, but knowing someone's there to catch you makes all the difference."

After unveiling the new song "Mystical Magical" at Coachella earlier this month, Benson Boone just dropped its stunning music video, and we have to say it's exactly what the title promises. It's a sunshiny almost operatic pop celebration of unbridled love—even if the object of his affections if playing hard to get—and knowing that once that door is opened, that love is bound to stand the test of time. Maybe he's romanticizing things that will never come to be, but that doesn't make the song any less infectious. It's also set to appear on his upcoming album American Heart, out June 20.
