These 30 Hot Actors Are THE Tallest Men in Hollywood

There's an old adage that most actors are much shorter in person than they look onscreen. While that's true in general, there are also a number of towering actors who somehow manage to be even taller than they appear.

In fact, some of our very favorite actors happen to be the tallest in Hollywood. Curious to find out who they are? Keep clicking through to discover which hulking actors are the biggest, starting at 6'3″—and make sure to stay until the very end if you want to find out who's the tallest of the tall.

1. Chris Hemsworth – 6'3″

It's no surprise that the god of thunder himself, Chris Hemsworth, stands incredibly tall at 6'3″. We know and love the Australian actor best as Thor in the Marvel films, and his stature isn't the only thing that makes him worthy of wielding Mjölnir. It also seems to run in the family, as he's not the only Hemsworth brother on this list!

2. David Harbour – 6'3″

Stranger Things just wouldn't be the same without David Harbour as Chief Jim Hopper, and we can't wait to see him as Alexei Shostakov, also known as the Red Guardian, in Marvel's upcoming Black Widow. He stands at 6'3″, making his costars look absolutely tiny in comparison. Both Winona Ryder and Scarlett Johansson stand look at 5'3″—a full foot shorter than him.

3. Idris Elba 6'3″

Who's more prolific than Idris Elba? The British actor (who also writes for film and is a singer-songwriter, producer and DJ) has been in more films and television shows than we can count and stands at an impressive 6'3″. Even though we know him best as Heimdall, the protector of the Bifröst in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he's also been in everything from Star Trek to The Jungle Book to Zooptopia and even The Office.

4. James D'Arcy – 6'3″

James D'Arcy is another very tall actor with a very long list of acting credits. The British 6'3″ actor is perhaps best known (and most beloved) for his role as Edwin Jarvis, butler to Howard Stark, on ABC's Agent Carter. We particularly loved his brief cameo as the character in Avengers: Endgame, marking the first time that a character from one of the Marvel TV shows crossed over to the MCU.

5. Jason Momoa – 6'3″

We're starting to get a feeling that height and playing a superhero go hand in hand. Jason Momoa, for example, is 6'3″, but we're sure that's not the only reason he was cast as Arthur Curry, also known as Aquaman, in the DC Extended Universe. He's got exactly the look for an updated take on the character, and we can't wait to see Aquaman 2 hit theaters in 2022.

6. John Krasinski – 6'3″

As much as we've always loved Jim Halpert on NBC's classic sitcom The Office, in recent years, John Krasinski has proved he's so much more than that. These days, the 6'3″ actor might be best known for writing, directing and starring in horror film A Quiet Place and its sequel, alongside wife Emily Blunt.

7. Lee Pace – 6'3″

Lee Pace is an actor who tends to completely disappear into his roles, but that doesn't mean he can necessarily hide how tall he really is. We'll always love the 6'3″ actor most for playing Ned on ABC's Pushing Daisies, but he's also quite well known for playing Ronan the Accuser in Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain Marvel, as well as Thranduil in the Hobbit trilogy.

8. Liam Hemsworth – 6'3″

We told you you hadn't seen the last of the Hemsworths on this list! Chris's little brother Liam is the same height at 6'3″ and is a massive star in his own right, starring opposite Miley Cyrus in The Last Song, as Gale Hawthorne in the Hunger Games quadrilogy and as Jake Morrison in Independence Day: Resurgence. The Australian star has "blockbuster" written all over him.

9. Nicholas Hoult – 6'3″

Nicholas Hoult may be one of the younger actors on this list, but he's already got an extraordinary filmography full of all kinds of epic movies. We've adored the British 6'3″ actor since his big-screen debut in About a Boy opposite Hugh Grant at the age of 12, but we also love his take on Beast in the X-Men reboot films, and especially as Nux in Mad Max: Fury Road.

10. Paul Bettany – 6'3″

It seems James D'arcy wasn't the only Jarvis on this list! While that actor played Howard Stark's human butler, Edwin Jarvis, in the Marvel films, English actor Paul Bettany voiced  J.A.R.V.I.S., the artificial intelligence Tony Stark built based on memories of his childhood butler. Laster on, J.A.R.V.I.S. was reborn as an android called Vision, giving 6'3″ Paul Bettany the chance to physically portray him as well. We think he was also highly underrated as bad guy Dryden Vos in Solo: A Star Wars Story.

11. Will Ferrell – 6'3″

Will Ferrell has firmly cemented himself as a comedy legend with too many hilarious movies to his name to even start listing here. He first jumped onto people's radars in the '90s as a regular cast member of Saturday Night Live before launching an incredible film career including Anchorman, Elf and Step Brothers, as well as some amazing voice work in animated movies including Megamind and The Lego Movie. And did we mention he stands at a whopping 6'3″?

12. Zachary Levi – 6'3″

While TV fans might recognize Zachary Levi is the star of Chuck, we're big fans of his movie work. The 6'3″ actor voices Flynn Ryder—or Eugene Fitzherbert, if you'd prefer—in Disney's animated film Tangled as well as its TV series, making him our favorite unofficial Disney Prince. He's also a literal DC superhero in Shazam!, proving he can do pretty much anything.

13. Ben Affleck – 6'4″

Ben Affleck has been one of Hollywood's biggest superstars for as long as we can remember, but until recently, we had no idea he was also one of the tallest stars in town, standing at 6'4″. The actor, writer and director kickstarted his career beside Matt Damon with Good Will Hunting in 1997 and hasn't looked back since. He's also been Batman. What more can you ask for?

14. Bill Skarsgård – 6'4″

Swedish actor Bill Skarsgård is a total a chameleon—which can be hard when you're 6'4″! He starred in The Divergent Series: Allegiant as Matthew and Hulu's anthology horror series Castle Rock as the mysterious "Kid," but you might not even recognize him in his biggest role yet. He also played Pennywise the clown in horror films It and It Chapter Twocompletely disappearing into the terrifying role.

15. Jacob Elordi – 6'4″

We didn't know Australian actor Jacob Elordi until his breakout role as Noah Flynn in Netflix's rom-com The Kissing Booth, but it was enough to put his name on the map. He looks positively huge next to costar Joey King (standing at 5'4″) and we're curious to see how their relationship unfolds in the sequel. He's also a revelation in HBO's Euphoria, and we think his career is only getting started.

16. Jared Padalecki – 6'4″

When you see Jared Padalecki on screen, there's no mistaking that he's tall. At 6'4″ he absolutely dwarfed 5'5″ Alexi Bledel playing her sometimes-boyfriend on Gilmore Girls, and in Supernatural, he even looks supernaturally tall next to his 6'1″ costar Jensen Ackles. We can't believe that he won't be playing Sam Winchester anymore after Supernatural concludes this year, but at least we have Walker to look forward to.

17. Jason Segel – 6'4″

Jason Segel has had a long and impressive comedic career, doing everything from acting to screenwriting, writing and performing music and even penning children's books. From his big start in TV as Nick on Freaks and Geeks to playing Marshall on How I Met Your Mother, the 6'4″ actor has been a TV staple, and his movies are some of our favorites.

18. Jeff Goldblum – 6'4″

Jeff Goldblum isn't just an iconic actor, but also a talented jazz pianist who's as quirky and offbeat as he is well-recognized. He stands at 6'4″ and is probably best known for his role as mathematician Dr. Ian Malcolm in the Jurassic Park franchise, most recently appearing in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Marvel fans will also recognize him as the hilarious (and dangerous) villain Grandmaster from Thor: Ragnarok.

21. Matthew Lillard – 6'4″

There's a good reason 6'4″ actor Matthew Lillard is most famous for playing the tall and lanky Scooby-Doo character Shaggy Rogers. Not only was he the perfect Shaggy for the series' first-ever live-action movies, but he did such a flawless Shaggy voice that he's since become the character's regular voice actor. Can you say "Zoinks"?

22. Armie Hammer – 6'5″

Armie Hammer, great-grandson of oil tycoon Armand Hammer, stands at a staggering 6'5″, and that presence is immediately clear in his onscreen roles. One of his first big roles was playing the Winklevoss twins in The Social Network, gifting us with not just one, but two Armies. Since then, he's also starred in movies including The Lone RangerThe Man From U.N.C.L.E. and Call Me by Your Name, to name a few.

23. Bo Burnham – 6'5″

Bo Burnham is one of those actors who can do pretty much anything—and he also happens to be super tall at 6'5″.  He began his career as a YouTuber, primarily showing his comedic music talents with hilarious songs on the keyboard. He's also a talented actor and a writer whose talents extend beyond music. You might know his name because he wrote and directed the hit indie film Eighth Grade, starring Elsie Fisher.

24. Dwayne Johnson – 6'5″

Is there anyone more famous for his hulking stature than The Rock himself? At 6'5″, Dwayne Johnson isn't just tall, but physically imposing in just about every way thanks to a lot of bodybuilding. After getting his start as one of the biggest names in wrestling, he seamlessly transitioned into acting, fitting as easily into big action roles as comedy ones. Our favorites, like The Game PlanCentral Intelligence and Jumanji, combine both.

25. Stephen Fry – 6'5″

26. Tim Robbins – 6'5″

If you run a movie marathon of classic films from the '80s and '90s, chances are you're going to encounter actor and writer Tim Robbins at least a handful of times. The 6'5″ actor is probably best known for his role as Andy Dufresne in The Shawshank Redemption, in which he plays a wrongfully accused man who's sent to prison and spends decades planning a daring escape.

27. Vince Vaughn – 6'5″

Just because Vince Vaughn is best known for taking on comedic roles doesn't make him just a one-trick pony. The 6'5″ actor is also a producer and screenwriter who's acted in genres including science fiction, thrillers and more. Still, we'll always remember his comedies most fondly, including classics like DodgeBall and The Internship.

28. Dave Bautista – 6'6″

The Rock isn't the only incredibly tall wrestler-turned-actor on this list. 6'6″ Dave Bautista is following a similar path, but it's clear he's not interested in exactly following in Dwayne Johnson's footsteps. He's probably best known for playing the hilarious and tough yet aloof alien Drax in the Guardians of the Galaxy films, but he's taken on roles of all kinds in films including Blade Runner 2049Stuber and My Spy. He's even been a Bond villain.

29. Brad Garrett – 6'9″

Actor Brad Garrett is known for his deep, booming voice as much as his staggering stature. At 6'9″, he's taller than all but one of the actors on this list. You might recognize him as Ray's brother, Robert, from the sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond, but you've probably heard him, too. He's  a prolific voice actor whose talents have been showcased in everything from Ratatouille to TangledFinding Nemo and Christopher Robin.

30. Joonas Suotamo – 6'11"

Don't recognize this actor at first glance? That's probably because the Finnish actor is usually hiding inside of a brown, furry suit. Joonas, who stands at an incredible 6'11", has been playing Chewbacca in the Star Wars franchise for four films, starting as a double in The Force Awakens and taking over fully in the Last Jedi. Not only is he just the right height to play the Wookiee, but he has the Chewie growl down. We just wish we'd get the opportunity to see more of him.
