The Canadian rising star’s latest lyric video is similar to his videos for “Show You” and “Life Of the Party.” They all appear to be recorded in a single take, and as the video progresses, the see the lyrics unfold in scrawled words across the screen.
“The Weight” is a melancholy number driven by acoustic guitar. In the song, Shawn sings about losing the girl in his life and the confusion caused by her constant mixed messages during their relationship.
