Country Sensation Timmy McKeever Is on a Roll in 2025 With ‘Tennessee Orange’ and So Much More

Up-and-coming country star Timmy McKeever released his debut album, Devils & Angels, in December of 2024, and that big momentum hasn't slowed down in the slightest into 2025.

After signing a record deal with Droptine Recordings last year, the California-born, Nashville-based star has been rapidly on the rise, pursuing his music career even as he continues with his commitments to education, sports and his family. He's been a very busy guy, and his thrilling discography shows it.

"I've Known Better," off Devils & Angels, has been his biggest hit yet, with more than 2.5 million streams since its release, and Timmy released its stirring official music video on March 21.

The lush and heart-breaking song is about being in a relationship with a seemingly perfect girl, and yet feeling torn up inside by the feelings that still remain for his former love, flaws and all. The cinematic and nostalgic music video, directed by Sam Aldrich, beautifully captures the sentiment of being stuck on an old flame as it flashes back to Timmy's moments with his lost love.

"Working with such an amazing team of talented individuals to bring this song's story to life has been an incredible experience," Timmy shared in a press release. "I can't wait for the fans to see it, and I truly hope they love it as much as I enjoyed recording it."

Timmy wasted no time following up the music video release with another familiar release—with a twist. That's because March 31 saw the release of "Tennessee Orange (Breakup Version)," putting his own spin on Meghan Moroney's viral love song.

Not only does the "breakup version," update the song's perspective, sung from the point of view of the guy, but it plays with the tone of the track as well. It follows the same melody and many of the same lyrics, but with minor changes and reworked instrumentation that brings its yearning, aching emotion that instead of telling a tale of finding the one becomes a compelling tale of love and loss. It's vulnerable and rich, showcasing Timmy's incredible talents for making a song his own.

"'Tennessee Orange' has always been a very special song to me," Timmy explained. "I found a different connection with it—we heard the story of the winner, and I just wanted to tell the story of the one who lost. This version of the song is more than just a cover. It's my way of giving people a piece of my heart and showing how music can be both a source of comfort and catharsis in tough times."
