6 Zodiac Signs That Are Natural-Born Leaders

In life, not every person neatly fits into the bucket of either "leader" or "follower," though there are certain people who do seem born to take charge and bring others together under a common goal.

It usually begins with the right attitude, including an open personality and collaborative nature, as well as the ability to inspire people and get them on the same page. If you're a believer in astrology, then, it makes sense that certain signs of the zodiac would have a propensity to be natural-born leaders. Find out which signs this applies to below.

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

Aries isn't just the first sign of the zodiac—they're also likely to be the first to jump at the opportunity to lead. They're action-oriented fire signs who are passionate about what they do, making them charismatic leaders who can get people excited about something and rally them all behind it. They tend to question more traditional authority, deciding to do things their own way, and they're willing to take risks in the name of their dreams. However, they're not really planners, and can also struggle to follow through on things. It's probably best that they delegate these tasks to others (even if they're not so good at that part, either).

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

We've always seen Taurus as the parental figure of the zodiac. They're dependable leaders who excel at creating action plans, setting rules and making sure that everyone abides by them, and they tend to provide a good balance of encouragement and tough love in the process. Not only are they clever, but they're also task-oriented and good at giving directions. As an earth sign, they're also very hard workers in their own right, leading by example. However, they can have a difficult time understanding others' limits, not knowing when they've pushed them too far.

Leo (July 23 – Aug. 22)

Attention-loving Leo also yearns to lead, as it puts them front and center. Leo is a gregarious sign that generally wants the best for people, and their fiery confidence and decisiveness quickly shows their followers that they have what it takes to captain any cause. However, this can also backfire, as their ego and pride can sometimes get in the way of making the best decision if it also happens to be an unpopular one.

Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21)

If you can count on Scorpio to be one thing, it's full or surprises. Despite their reputation for sometimes being difficult, Scorpios possess a number of natural leadership qualities, making them the person who won't necessarily be your best friend, but can lead your team to victory. First off, their sense of mystery also makes them appealing and intriguing, helping them to command respect and easily sway others' opinions. They're happiest when they're fully in control, through can struggle with a lack of trust—and that goes both ways. Scorpio is often intimidating, and when people are too scared to ask them the important questions, that can get in the way.

Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19)

Capricorn is the hardest worker of the zodiac, willing to get their hands dirty and never be an armchair leader. They're detail-oriented, knowing how to prioritize and structure a project to ensure it gets done in a timely and effective manner. This grounded earth sign is also very traditional, caring about doing things the right way, instead of the fast or easy way. However, they can sometimes begin to think can do the job better than anyone else and take on way too much themselves. Caps can also be inflexible and unwilling to learn new ways to do things, even when shortcuts are necessary to meet deadlines and maintain sanity.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18)

And finally there's Aquarius, the eccentric leader of the zodiac. They're characterized by innovation and big ideas, often finding themselves in leadership roles because if they won't champion their very individual cause, no one will. It helps that they also tend to attract friends easily, and their sense of altruism makes others want to join right in, no matter how out-there the idea, though they can lose some people with their more lofty ambitions. Their logic-over-emotion approach can also be a turn-off.
