7 Fall Beauty Trends to Try Right Now

Fall is one of our favorite times to experiment with new beauty trends.

While summer is all about less is more, fall is the time to amp up the volume, and fall 2018 is turning out to be bold and daring for all things beauty. From rich shadow hues to '80s drama and sparkly embellishments, below are the top seasonal trends you need to try out.

MOD Makeup

The swinging '60s made their mark this season, with graphic black liner and heavy bottom mascara very reminiscent of the decade's supermodel icon Twiggy. Load up on the bottom lash line mascara and start overlaying your cat eye to make them thick and pronounced.

Colorful Eyeliner

Colorful eyeliner is shaping up to be big, and it's actually really easy to incorporate into your routine. We tried out this yellow eyeliner look, and were very happy with the results. Dior has a slew of liners ranging from yellow to pink to blue, and you can experiment with lining either the top lash line or underneath.

Smokey Bright Shadows

Sure a brown or gray smokey eye never disappoints, but for fall 2018, designers including Christian Siriano showed dramatic pink smokey eyes. We saw this trend a lot last year on the red carpets and it looks like it's here to stay. Yellow is also the in-demand color of the moment and is making its way onto the lids as well.

'80s Drama

The '90s are on their way out after having a strong hold on fashion and beauty for several years—hello chokers, brown matte lips (but thank goodness no pin-thin brows). But now, the decade of drama is swooping in. The '80s with all of its big hair, thick headbands and extra accessories are taking center stage. Give your hair some extra volume with Ouai's Volumizing Hair Spray and give steam rollers a try for va va voom curls.

Banana Clips

Banana clips were sort of faux pas for years, but leave it to Alexander Wang to make them cool and covetable again. Not only are they functional and easy, they make for the perfect business look.

Face Crystals

Yep, you read that right, face crystals are coming back. We like the idea of this look for a music festival, concert, or even a themed party or school dance. Just a few cute crystals around the eye or even loading up on chunky glitter disco eyes will do the trick.

Red Hair

If you've thought about dying your hair red, the time to try it is now. Red is easily the biggest hair color trend for fall and it's a good time to try it because you won't be in and out of the sun and ocean as much as you were in summer. Faux red hair requires a lot of work, so read this first if you're actually thinking about taking the fiery plunge!
