There are some combinations in life that are obvious and others that just aren’t. One that definitely fits in the second category is ramen and beauty products.
The pairing might not seem like a natural one, but now that we’ve seen the Samyang x TonyMoly Hot Edition beauty line, our eyes have been opened. The collaboration between the food company and cosmetics brand is exactly what we never knew was missing from our lives and makeup bags.
The products are specifically inspired by Samyang Food’s Buldak Spicy Chicken Ramen, and the packaging is so on-point. TonyMoly has been sharing images on Instagram, and it’s honestly hard to tell the difference between makeup and food.
Novelty aside, the beauty products are actually practical, too. The Korea Herald reports that the limited-edition collection “includes facial cover cushion, blusher, lip tint and lip balm.” They don’t come in a wide range of shades, but there are a few different options.
While most of the products seem straightforward enough, you may be wondering what “facial cover cushion” is. Charlotte Cho, the founder of a Korean beauty e-tailer, previously explained to Glamour that cushion compacts are K-beauty products that are “considered a fusion of skin care and makeup.” Glamour summed it up as “BB cream in compact form.” That’s in line with what we’ve seen from the Samyang x TonyMoly Hot Coverdak Cushion; it appears to even out the skin and offer some coverage, based on the photos.
