When in doubt, make ramen. It's cheap and requires virtually zero cooking ability. And most importantly, it tastes delicious. Those heaps of sodium are our guiltiest pleasure.

But you can'y just purchase any brand of ramen. Some are not nearly as delicious as others. Below, discover our favorite brands, so you'll always have the tastiest instant noodles.

Maruchan

Maruchan is the most classic instant noodle. It's affordable—you can find it for less than $1 at almost any market—and they have the essential flavors, including chicken, beef, pork and shrimp. Yes, each flavor is distinct and delicious. But arguably, our favorite part is how simple it is to eat. You don't even need to use your own dish. Just pour boiling water into the styrofoam cup, and it's ready to eat.

 

Nissin

If you can't find Maruchan, you'll probably find Nissin Cup Noodles. Again, this product eliminates the annoyance of dirty dishes by allowing you to eat from its package. Aside from the typical flavors, you can also find very creative ones, like their Campfire S'mores and Everything Bagel.

Oh, and if you're looking for an elevated version of ramen, they offer slightly more expensive versions, like their chow mein line.

Samyang Buldak

Ah, yes! It wouldn't be right not to include the very viral Samyang Buldak noodles. This company, hailing from South Korea, is every spice lover's dream. Their original effort, the black bag, is already extra hot. But they have even more flavors to crank up the heat, like Habanero Lime and 2x (and 3x) Hot Chicken. Despite its heat, the garlicky seasoning packet packs a robust taste unlike any other brand, which always has us running back for more.

 

Snapdragon

We recently discovered Snapdragon and have not been disappointed. We typically opt for this brand when we want something more niche, like tonkotsu or miso. These specific flavors are where the brand really shines because they always hit the nail on the head with the different tones they require.
