The Biggest Pop Culture-Inspired Halloween Costume Ideas of 2025
It's never too early to start thinking about what you're going to be for Halloween, and as we move further and further into September, Oct. 31 really isn't as far away as you think.
While you can never go wrong with one of the tried and true horror costumes—think zombies, vampires, skeletons, witches, werewolves, ghosts and the like—we can't get enough of topical costumes. The more current, the better, and this year, there were so many iconic pop culture moments that feel worth capturing. Below are some of the biggest trending moments of the season that we think we'll be seeing a lot of this Halloween.
KPop Demon Hunters
If we had to pick one piece of media that's dominated 2025, it has to be KPop Demon Hunters. Mira, Rumi and Zoey of HUNTR/X are our titular K-pop stars and demon hunters, and they're as stylish and inspirational as they are relatable and hilarious. They also have some incredible outfits to emulate for Halloween, whether you love their opening concert ensembles, their "Golden" promo looks, their leather-clad Hunter attire or their more casual incognito outfits.
Of course, the film has plenty of other characters to dress as, too. A group of five could go out as Jinu, Abby, Baby, Mystery and Romance of the Saja Boys, HUNTR/X's demonic rival boy band. Others might want to be the girls' manager, Bobby, or even the adorable Derpy tiger.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce
Yes, Taylor Swift continues to be one of our biggest Halloween inspirations every year, but with The Life of a Showgirl arriving in less than a month, and her recently announced engagement to Travis Kelce, she's repeatedly been in the headlines. Together, they make for the ultimate couple's costume, where you want to be literal and dress up to look just like them, or play with things a little bit as an exaggerated pop star and football player, or English teacher and gym teacher, mid-wedding.
Superman
James Gunn's Superman was a breath of fresh air when it hit theaters this summer, adding a much-needed sense of hope and wonder to the superhero scene. We still can't get it out of our heads, and we anticipate seeing more Superman costumes than ever in 2025. Even more so, we bet we'll get plenty of dreamy Clark Kent costumes, plus stylish Lois Lanes, playful Jimmy Olsens and nefarious Lux Luthors, and let's not forget the Justice Gang, consisting of Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, Metamorpho and, our personal favorite, Mr. Terrific. We'd also love to see "punk rock" takes on the classic Superman costume—if you know, you know.

Wednesday Addams
When Netflix's Wednesday first released in 2022, it dropped over Thanksgiving weekend—much too late for Halloween. We've much preferred the timing of the second season, with parts one and two releasing in August and September, to give us plenty of time to soak in the new episodes and get inspired by Jenna Ortega's latest Wednesday Addams ensembles. She has some unforgettable looks this season, but really, you can wear any all-black outfit with pale makeup and the classic black pigtails and everyone will know who you are.

Silksong
The eagerly anticipated Hollow Knight sequel, Silksong, just released on Sep. 4, but the game has us utterly hooked, and its protagonist, Hornet, is our hero. She's elegant, agile and tough as nails, and we've already seen plenty of fans dressed up as her. All it takes is the white exoskeleton mask, a black bodysuit and the red dress to get the look down, but of course, the long nail weapon will be what really sells the outfit.

Labubu
In 2025, we've seen collectibles and blind box toys explode in popularity in the U.S. in a way we've never seen, and the king of the collectibles has to be Labubu. Created by Hong Kong illustrator Kasing Lung, the line of toys stars a monstrous but sweet creature with a human-like face, sharp teeth, rabbit ears and shaggy fur covering most of their bodies. Some people find them simply irresistible, with a strong desire to collect them all, and we don't doubt that they'll also want to rep their Labubu love come Halloween.

The Summer I Turned Pretty
As of this writing, The Summer I Turned Pretty's third season has its audience in a vice grip, with the love triangle between Belly Conklin and brothers Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher as uncertain as ever. We don't want to get into spoilers just in case, but it's no stretch to say that fans have been on the tips of their toes, and that all three characters would make for excellent costumes. Belly's sweet style has developed a lot over the years, giving her countless memorable outfits to pick from, while Conrad's looks are more preppy and classic and Jeremiah gives of frat boy vibes. Depending on which team you're on (or how the show winds up), you may want to tailor this couple's costume accordingly.

Galinda and Elphaba
2024's Wicked was another Thanksgiving weekend release, and we can't believe we still haven't seen all of the wonderful Galinda and Elphaba Halloween costumes it's sure to inspire. With the next film also slated to drop in November, it's the perfect buzzy time to celebrate with a duo costume, with one member draped in pretty, delicate pinks and the other all in black and dolled up in green face paint. It won't be easy to pull off, but we already know the results will be entirely worth it.
