7 Focused and Satisfying Hobbies Every Scorpio Should Try at Least Once

It's almost Halloween, which also means that Scorpio season has officially arrived. Astrologically, it's a deeply reflective period that encourages the nurturing of relationships and embracing change, and if you're a Scorpio yourself, you might feel slightly restless and eager to jump into a new hobby.

Scorpio season lasts from about Oct. 23 to Nov. 21, but there's no rush to dive right into the new pastime you've been looking for. Below, we've assembled several hobbies that will help you harness your passion into something fulfilling as well as fun.

Investigation and Deep Dives

This may sound a little strange at first, but yes, Scorpios can fall in love with research as a hobby. They tend to be highly curious and passionate about the things that interest them, and it's not that unusual to see them reading through Wikipedia pages about unusual topics or even checking out books pertaining to them. They can take things even further by making their investigations their own, taking notes, collecting references and even contacting relevant sources. This type of hobby can even be useful as a job skill, whether research is used for sleuthing or helping patrons at the library, or even putting together a mystery book or true crime podcast.

Divination Practices

Scorpio is said to be one of the most spiritual signs of the zodiac, and even if you don't believe in fortune-telling or divination, it can be fun to see what all of the fuss is about. This pertains to everything from astrology to tarot. They may not actually be able to predict the future, but that doesn't mean they can be insightful and help you look at life in a new way. Scorpios often have strong intuition and pattern recognition, allowing them to use these practices as tools to create healthier or more positive behaviors.

Join the Club

While some people might see Scorpios as solitary creatures, they're actually quite social once they've clicked with the right people. They can be closed off at first, but shared experiences and interests will open them up, allowing them to forge strong connections with others. Joining the right club is the ultimate shortcut, as it provides that common ground, whether it's built around a hobby like reading, photography, crafts or film or some kind of community service. Not only does this give them something concrete to focus on, but the friendships are nearly built-in.

Creative Writing

As water signs, Scorpios are some of the most sensitive and creative people, and they can get extra frustrated  if all of their ideas and emotions get pent up because they don't have an outlet. Creative writing is one of the most low-pressure ways for them to express themselves, because all they need are paper and a writing utensil (or pretty much any device with a keyboard attached). With writing, the sky really is the limit. They can journal about their day to better process their thoughts and feelings and the events transpiring around them, or write about fantasy kingdoms, alien worlds or just little stories about nice characters having a good day. Writing is a safe place to explore ideas of all sizes and dimensions, and Scorpios will quickly find that they have a lot to say.

Mindfulness

Truly, everyone can benefit from a mindfulness practice, but we think it might be even more helpful for Scorpio than it is for many of the other signs. For one, learning to be present and grounded can help them better understand their emotions, and Scorpio tends to have a lot of them. They have a reputation for sometimes being controlling or harsh with others, and looking inward can help them see where they can be gentler and still get themselves across. Practices like meditation can also help them get in touch with their spiritual side and find greatest peace in life.

Hiking

Scorpios can also benefit from reconnecting with nature, especially in a way that actively channels their restless energy. Being out in the wilderness of the world can be highly grounding for them, particularly in majestic locations like forests and mountain trails that lend an air or mystery, akin to Scorpio themselves. Exercise is always even better in a beautiful place, feeling productive and restorative, and Scorpio is likely to get even more out of the experience if the location has some kind of historical or cultural significance.

Experimental Cooking

Food is life, and Scorpios see cooking not just as a way to feed people, but as a creative (and delicious) way to channel their creativity will bringing joy to others. Their inquisitive natures will drive them to seek our recipes from all around the world in search of the most unusual, yet tasty, dishes to impress their guests, and they won't be afraid to experiment with unique ingredients or spice and texture. Their warm and comforting offerings will impress while also soothing the soul.
