We've said our goodbyes to 2018, so it's time to embrace 2019.

Between now and the end of April, there are so many big events and excitements that we truly can't wait to experience. We're talking holidays, new entertainment, trends and much, much more. A new year means new trends. When it comes to beauty, we're looking forward to some unique ones: lilac hair, powder dip nails and more. We're ready to experiment and enjoy the ride.

How in the world can Ariana Grande top 2018? Well, with even more new music and a tour. The pop princess has been teasing her next single, "7 Rings," and it's set to drop on Jan. 18. Yes, please.



This year, MLK Day falls on Jan. 21, giving us our usual anticipated three-day weekend. Since it's never easy to go back to school or work after a break, the long weekend comes at the perfect time to make the transition less painful. Of course, let's not forget what the holiday is all about: equality.

Super Bowl Sunday

The NFL's biggest day comes on Sunday, Feb. 3. Whether or not you're a football fan, it's quite the event. Consider it an excuse to gather with people you adore, appreciate serious athleticism, eat great snacks and watch the year's best commercials. Oh, and with Travis Scott performing at halftime, will he capitalize on the big moment to propose to Kylie Jenner?


On the Come Up by Angie Thomas

If you're a book-lover, keep an eye out for On the Come Up. Due out on Feb. 5, it's the latest novel from Angie Thomas. Her debut novel, The Hate U Give, was a best-seller, and it also inspired the 2018 film starring Amandla Stenberg.


The Oscars

Film buffs should have the 91st Academy Awards (otherwise known as the Oscars) on their calendars. The big awards show is held on Feb. 29. It's a great chance to see your fave stars in all their red-carpet glory, and find out if they go home winners.

On March 8, one of the most-anticipated superhero flicks of 2019 is coming out: Captain Marvel, starring Brie Larson. At last, we'll get to see her in action. So. Excited.


World Championships of Figure Skating

Figure skating doesn't just happen during the Olympics. From March 20 to 24 in Saitama, Japan, the best skaters in the world will be competing for medals, in a show of amazing athletics and artistry. One storyline to watch is whether or not reigning champ Nathan Chen of the United States can hold onto his title in the men's event.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 2

Ready for more Chilling Adventures of Sabrina? The Netflix series is returning with its second season on April 5. We'll see how the half-witch/half-mortal handles the most recent changes in her life.



Every year, music-lovers flock to Indio, California, to see some of the biggest names in music. This year, the festival will be held the weekends of April 12 and April 19. Don't worry, you don't have to be there to enjoy it. Photos of the celebs' outfits and videos of the performances will all make their way onto the wonderful World Wide Web.


Final Season of Game of Thrones

All good things must come to an end, even Game of Thrones. The hit HBO show's eighth and final season premieres April 14, and we're ready. Whatever happens, it's guaranteed to be a thrilling finish.
